i second what timujin says. On a cold night/morning - the pull is incredible! Driving off is really smooth, and you feel like a fighter jet taking off. Very refined.

Watched WRC all my life, had my Evo for 3 months and still can't believe I have one.

It looks gorgeous, drives like a dream. It's purity is truly divine - I'm in it for the driving experience, and love every single thing about this car

I love the powerband that a turbo can provide vs NA. The way the turbo responds even stock is amazing. The top end is great too. (Even better, there's so much to be gained with minimal mods). The steering response is amazing. The handling is very tight. Even if you start to slide, it's easy to recover. It doesn't push like other AWD cars I've owned (WRX & A4).

For day to day driving, it's comforting to know I can pass anything at will with just a little throttle. I can also stop on a dime with no trouble at all. There is just about nothing worse than a car with inadequate brakes and no passing power.

there are so many reasons....

the acceleration, the sharp steering, the handling, the potential to mod, and the ride comfort relative to other performance cars i've owned/driven, 4 doors and 5 seats, ACD so i can drive in any weather with more confidence, the way the Evo looks (very aggressive ), the price tag for the performance, the simple interior (has everything i need without all the unnecessary crap that might break down on me)....

overall - performance + practicality + affordability - nothing touches the Evo with these 3 criteria combined imo

I am trading in my STi basically for all of the reasons mentioned. The EJ25 is just to new and the stock block cannot support enough horsepower for my tastes, plus it is expensive to mod. The Evo is sexy as hell, the handling is awesome, the engine is incredible, AWD, I believe hands down it is the best overall package money can buy.

How about a rally inspired car.

I think that says it all.

Because my other EVO got so heavily modified for the track that it got too expensive and risky to drive on the street, so I got a bone stock one too.
