How many miles before ....

How many miles should a car reach up to before putting full bolt ons and a pro tune on it

ASAP.

i don't believe in break-in periods. never have, never will. some people will tell you to take it easy for the first 500-1000 miles or some bs like that.

the day i purchased my 08 gsr in 09, i took it to the top of 4th gear and i've been driving the **** out of it ever since. i've racked up 108k miles so far and it's still running strong. i had my intake/tp/exhaust/uicp/pro tune for over 80k miles and everything is still in working order. i would've had it done earlier but $$$ was tight at the time. oh and i'm still on my original clutch, engine, transmission.

one thing i'll tell you is that you need to change your plastic pulleys, unless it's been revised for the 2014. so far, that's the only thing that broke on me. everything else has been flawless.

If the car is brand new, just make sure you have the proper oil in it. Car may have been shipped with conventional and depending on what type of boost you are going to create you should check that out. Just something to consider.

I've only put about 350 miles on my Evo so far and I've just driven it normal/spirited-dd style. Not babying it but also not red-lining every gear on my way to work lol.

I'm not planning on doing any mods/ecu changes for a little while just based on money situation and I want to keep the warranty at least until first couple service intervals.

Before getting the car that was my plan lol. Keep it stock until warranty expired. No way I will be able to wait that long! I already look at piping and exhaust systems on a daily basis and this forum is a bad influence if you're trying to stay stock.

I'm gonna try to hold out until 15k miles, get everything serviced and checked up, then straight to tuner with bolt-ons in hand.

I would say after your first oil change. Then do it!
