Synapse BOV

I got offered a hell of a deal to buy a Synapse BOV off a guy local. He is selling his VIII and offered it to me, and is going to put my stock BOV on. Opinions? I know once I start doing some upgrading I will need to get a better one. Is Synapse truly one of the best recirculating Blow offs there are?

Are you currently tuned to VTA?

Is the Synapse set to recirculate?

If you go from recirc to VTA without tuning you will have a big issue on your hands.

From everything I've read the Synapse is a great bov. I've been pondering getting one. The Synapse does have an option to recirculate so you should have no problems with drivability. As long as you have the same flange that the bov uses on your uicp you should be fine.

It is set to recirc, but I'm getting it tuned next week and will have it put on, and the old one removed, then if I get it. But is it all the whoop that everyone talks about?

A bov is a bov. It depends really how much boost you will be pushing. i personally think 26 psi and below you should be fine with the 9 bov. Go ahead and get it if you want though. Not a big deal. It is a good BOV/

In my experience (and others on here as well), the IX bov only holds up to about 22psi. I went with the compact synapse, and I'm pretty happy with it.

This is the older synapse, kinda looks like a big pill. And truthfully, I don't know how much I'll be pushing in the future. So i figure if I can get a good one for the price I might as well, right?

The Synapse is excellent, just make sure you run it recirculated if you're on MAF.

I have a Synapse and love it. It's the only blow off valve that doesn't have any flutter even when I try to make it. My stock ix bov had flutter so I bought a Synapse and never looked back. The drivability is awesome with it.

Mine is holding 26 peak no problems here.

I should clarify that mine leaked past 22psi.
