New to the forums. Need help finding a evo

Hello. I'm new here just been on a few days.

I've been wanting a Evo for years. Ended up getting into sport bikes for years and finally giving it up.

My biggest issue now is trying to find a evo under 17k

I know there out there. However every time I seem to find one. I'm 1-2 days late.

Does anyone know of White or black VIII or XI on the east coast. I'm in NJ but will be going down to FL however I rather get the car up here so I can drive it down instead of a rental.

I have 750 credit score can easily get a loan. Just not looking to pay the 24grand every dealer is asking.

Prefer the car to be stock or lightly modded. Hopefully someone can lead me in the right direction.

Thank you.

I've seen a ton of VIII's going for like 11-12k recently, usually close to 100k though. You can use Craigslist, any type of car trader site, or the classifieds on here. If you buy one from a private seller, you can probably call a local tuning shop that deals with evo's and they will look the car over for a small fee, a friend of mine had an STi looked over by TPG tuning here in Pa. These shops know specific things to for that normal garages wouldn't ie: poorly modded, bad tunes, ect..

GL on the search!

You get what you pay for. Everyone wants a bargain but I wouldn't put the ix and the Viii in the same category if your looking for one. 9s or naturally going to be more expensive I don't need to explain why. 17k will get you a pretty used beat up 9. If your budget is 17 I'd look specifically into the Viii.

Be patient and keep watching the FS forum here on evoM and your local craigslist.

Watch out people just flipping cars, be sure they have owned the car for a while and that the car is in their name.

Be ready to jump on a truly good deal though. Go look at the car as soon as you can and if all checks out, be ready to say "I will buy it" and get them to hold the car until you get the money. If you trust them enough, you can give them $100 cash(or more) to hold the car, but I would still have them sign something saying they will hold the car for you for 48 hours and count the money towards the purchase.

Good Luck.
