Hello EVO enthusiasts! I have an 05 EVO 8 that will not start. The battery seems to be fine and all electronics fire up when I turn on the ignition. The engine cranks but will not fire. I just recently changed out the plugs and wires with new ones.
I am wondering if it could be the timing?? I had the timing belt replaced a little over a year ago and even after putting new plugs/wires on I still had a slight backfire when I got on it in third gear. Anyone have any input to my issues?

I appreciate anyone/everyone's input to my issues.

 

Check fuel, if running e85 check injectors. Mine froze up from sitting over the winter last year.

 

starter? the little black wire to the starter? ignition switch? fuel relay?

 

was the car starting with new plus and cable before this issue? how long has the car been siting?

 

Well Start with the basics. Can you confirm you have spark and fuel? Did the car sit for any period of time before this happened? Also when it is cranking does it seem like it is cranking extremely fast?

Also you have any way to pull codes? Looking for maybe a p0335 or po340?

 

Please double check your coil and wires, position that is.

Has happened before. Coil and wire 1 goes to 4 and 2 goes to 3.
