powersteering pump

Hey the other night I was driving home from work I made a sudden hard U-turn, and then suddenly my powersteering stoped working. I read up on the forums that it's most likely the pump, however I didn't even lock my steering wheel. Anyways I'm going to bring into a dealership for warranty, I just have one question. Do I HAVE to bring it into the dealership where I purchased my car for warranty. Or can I just bring it to any other Mitsuibishi dealership. Because the dealership where I purchased mine is quite far. Anyways I live in New York so if that's the case any of you have any dealerships you would reccomend?

You can bring it to any Mitsubishi Dealer in the U.S. for warranty work. However each Mitsubishi Dealer has a right to choose not to work on an individual car. Under the Mossman? Act a manufacturer can not deny your warranty for after market parts installed that do not affect the faulty factory part. How would an aftermarket radio, autometer gauges and ss clutch line mess up your power steering pump?

Just take it to the dealer you trust and get the work done there, I would also suggest creating a relationship with a dealer's service department so you know what type of service you are getting.

Did you check your powersteering fluid level?
I don't know the belt setup on your Evo, but if the powersteering belt is separate, is it still on the pullies on your car?
