New to DSMs
Just joined up and looking to learn more about DSMs. I drive a 2007 Mazdaspeed3 (Evo is out of my price range
). Since it's fail-wheel-drive I'm having trouble putting my power to the ground. Came here to look for some Evo X wheels to help with my traction problems. I'm spals on Mazda***********.org and have a good trader rating over there.

Dsms can be problematic. Your best option and it will nearly be impossible but you can find them every once and a while, but to find one that has light mods. They will take mods really well, and can be very fast with the right setups. Tuning is important to any of the turbo cars being you going to be able to utilize what mods you put on. Depending on the dsm you decide to go with there are things between the 1g and 2g cars you may want. What else would you like to know about them I can help out. Going back to what you said evo wheels will not help you with fwd. Fwd setups are going to require much more work and suspension along with a good lsd and or something along those lines to keep the power to the ground. Hope this helps.
Yeah. I made sure to find an unmodified speed3. I would never buy a modified turbo car. That was the problem when I looked at buying an evo was that all the ones in my price range were heavily modified.
I already have a limited slip and I'm looking at the Evo wheels since they are 1.5" wider than my stockers. Running a 245 vs a 215 will help my traction issue but not completely solve it.

I was talking about the dsm not the speed3 lol. And I don't know if you know but the evo isn't technically a dsm. The dsm was actually made by Diamond star manufacturing. The evo is made by Mitsubishi. The only thing they share is the fact they are a awd platform using a 4g63 motor.

Dsm's were made between 1989 and 1999. They were basically 1 line of car. They consisted of the Mitsu eclipse, Plymouth laser and the Eagle talon. They were all basically the same car. Now here is where it gets interesting and where there was some debate. The Gallant being it shared the 4g63 platform was also built at the Diamond start plants as well as the 3000gt and the early neon's but were not considered Dsm's. People will argue how they want about them, but the fact of the matter is Diamond start was only a merger of Mitsubishi and Chrysler at the time using a Japanese turbocharged motor and the shared platform of the laser and talon.

Yeah and see here is the debate about what it should be. It was assembled at the plant in Indiana, but it was never a part of the dsm line. It was there because of the motor. So if it was pretty much assembled there and plated as a dsm I agree that it should be a dsm. But high ranking officials will say different. I have an uncle that use to work there that was a high up and he told me that it was all about the 3 cars. Being they all shared the same platform. Now to me that makes since, but then how do you explain the other 3 cars that were built at the same plant ya know? Everyone will tell you something different but I believe Phizzalot. If it is plated as a dsm then its a dsm lol.
