Trade-In Time

Tried to grab an Evo back in 20an when I was looking to sell my Z33, but ended up in an FA5, which was sold to buy a 2G GST and 4G GS.

Own a 2011 DGM WRX Sedan now, which is all fine and dandy aside from the trans not being able to hold the power I'm looking for, and am looking, once again, into trading up to a 2008+ GSR.

Weddings coming up May 17th, and I'll be looking for an Evo immediately after. I'm getting super antsy.

Thanks in advance for whatever I learn from this forum and its members.

Welcome. I scoured craigslist, auto-trader, cars.com, and a few other sites. How much you looking to spend?

The woman's giving me five to play with, and I'll probably break even on my Rex, so I'm setting a mental limit of $28k, assuming I can haggle a grand or so. I pay $450 a month now, and don't want to spend any more than that. I've found a few 2010+ WW's in that price range so far.

Wow you had a better amount than I did. See what you can find used to save you a little money to put toward that wedding ( Your fiance with thank you). But if you want to go bang a rang you could probably wiggle a X with low kit on lease to own.

Weddings already paid for, I'm getting the car AFTERWARDS.

Yeah, I'll be buying used. Doesn't need to be new since I drive a company vehicle all week. The X will sit in the garage just like my car now.

So will this be a play vehicle or an everyday vehicle?

Dunno yet. Probably take it as far as bolt-ons will go, then if funds are available, even further.

Who knows if anyone will read this post, but how do these 4B11's compare to higher mileage 4G63's? There's an OB 2010 GSR that's got my eye with 47k for $26k. Hoping they still have it in May, but it'll be the highest mileage car I've ever financed. Think it's an SSS too.

GL bro... Like Subies, I'd definitely be a bit leery about buying a used Evo... Just don't forget to get it checked out thoroughly...

Yeah, I hear you.

I've got my eye on a Base '12 MG GSR w/19k. Won't have time to pick it up for a month, so I'm considering putting a deposit down if it's still available in a couple weeks. It's at a Subaru Dealer. Haha.

Worst case scenario, there are plenty New Base Models within the state. I'd just rather save like seven grand.

Nothing wrong with higher miles just do your research on the car before purchase, ie carfax, maintenance receipts, ect..

If you have 5k saved then keep that liquid for after you buy your used evo. You will need it.

No self-control. That $5k would be spent almost immediately.

Looks good bro - have you seen it yet? I'd drop that deposit...
