New Car Decision

Hey guys, I'm planning on buying a car towards the end of this year.. targeting the last 2~3weeks of December of 2014 for a new car because I'm really interested in 2014 models of Evo X and STI, 2015 STI looks pretty ugly so that's out of the picture. I'm not much of a mechanic, and I really haven't been inside of Evo X but in terms of reliability for these 2014 models, which would be better? I'm leaning more towards evo because of its looks and well my brother has an STI so I don't really want the same car as him either. I've researched and researched about these cars for months, but it always breaks even!

From your personal experiences, how's maintaining the EVO money wise? Is it rly expensive to maintain? What issues do you seem to have with the car, major and minor? Also, one of my worries is the GSR being 5 speed.. Is driving on the highway bearable with the 5 spd because I usually drive around 80~85 on the highway. (MR is out of the picture because I want a manual car).

And when do you think is the best time to buy the 2014 models? December or past December onto 2015?

I've been in my brother's 2008 STI and to be honest, I don't think it's that much of a better DD considering the interior isnt that better off than Evo's and the suspension is pretty rough, so it rly isn't a smooth ride. If I wanted a comfortable and nice interior.. I'd get a European but I just love Evos and STIs.

I have a 2008 GSR, never had any major issues. except recently the timing chain went out, cost about $1400, besides that just normal wear

2015 sti looks really similar to the evo x except for the rear.. it also seems to be doing decently so far in solo from what i've seen.. that motor is a deal breaker for me though

I do like the STI itself, it's just that it looks way too bulky compared to the EVO

EVERYONE has a Subie tho, that's what kinda made myself interested in an Evo. Evo has a much stronger engine and you're more likely to be noticed in it! Good choice with going for an Evo over an STI.
