Navigation, Turn On? Turn Down?
Navigation, Turn On? Turn Down?
Now the days are getting closer and I'm about to get my first evo in 1 week.
I'm gonna get GSR and possibly SSS.
My last concern is the navigation system. I know I can use iphone Google map,
but just for the look of interior, is it cool to have a navi or not to have one?
I always think more is better and having a navi is more awesome than just a
cd-player dash board.
What you guys opinions on this?
btw, Phantom Black VS Wicked White, which is more of your taste?

Personally, I think the less electronics showing, the better the interior looks. I have a IX and keep my navi in the glovebox until I really need it. When I do, I clamp it right below the rearview mirror. It's easy to see and completely out of the way. YMMV
Factory navi, like on most cars, is overpriced. It's over 2k for basic functions and only 2 map updates. Aftermarket ones are cheaper, less than half the cost, and have more features plus most have unlimited map updates.
Not worth it, imo. Base unit has the main features. Touchscreen, Bluetooth, xm, etc. If you need more, go aftermarket. For the older models I'd still just try and not get it. If you are buying used though you don't get much choice.
You can buy an entire aftermarket system better than the Rockford system for the cost of the navigation alone.
