[Northeast] Supra owner looking to learn about Evos!

What's up fellas,

I drive a 1991 Mk3 Supra. I don't know enough about Evo's and don't want to jump into one without getting some knaaawledge from the forum. Aiming to buy around September so I'm sure I'll be ready by that time. I am dead set on an SSL model and under 100k miles... limited to exhaust and suspension mods. I don't want someone else's build(headache) and something that I can drive every single day through rain/snow/shine. Eventually I'm sure I'll want more and do some sort of build but that's way long term.

I'm also trying to build up an Instagram page, sporting under-appreciated builds and photographers. I'll be making my way out to as many meets as possible on the east coast this coming season and doing photoshoots. Follow/DM pictures of your cars and I'll share them with my followers! @BoostCentral

For those interested in the supra, NO its not a 2jz

Self road tuned right now using a piggyback - ECU master det3. No dyno numbers but butt dyno feels like a solid 400 wheel.
I'm running a 61mm turbo on my stock-internal 7M with 550cc injectors. With my 2mm metal headgasket and ARP's I'm just about at the "safe" (IMO) power level limit. If others are interested I'll post the full specs of my build. Otherwise, enjoy some pictures!

My dream car is a MK4 Supra, but like evos they are expensive and hard to find non molested. The evo is a great car if you take care of it and find one from a reliable source. Either way, good luck with your evo search and welcome aboard, keep us updated if you get one! (:

Thank you, much appreciated! I will be active on the forums for sure so I will make a nice and detailed post when I do get an evo! I am dead set on it. That's my dream car as well, among a laundry list of others but it's certainly among the top few. They're just about the same price range as an evo to be honest, I wouldn't hesitate to get one if I lived in an area that didn't see snow.

100,000 miles

I got my first Evo 100,000 and do not regret it. The car has mods and being with the car for 2 years the only thing that I had to replace that gave on me was the radiator... What I'm trying to say if you get your hand on a partially modes Evo you will be OK. 😜 So far 140,000 and still rolling, daily driving it and at least three 1 hr drives a month. You won't go wrong with a Evo. Hope everything goes well with your search. 😉😉

That makes me feel even more confident that I'm looking to get a reliable and solid car! I have heard a few horror stories here and there about the reliability of evo's but I take them with a grain of salt because they were all 'built'. What are some things you would suggest looking out for right off the bat?

Mods

The more aggressive mods the more the car has been getting a beat down. Do research on this forum; other people have asked the same question as what to be aware before getting into Evo. I would have to stick with mods, and obviously almost every Evo will be modded but how far did they go and how much stress those mods put on the Evo. I'm no expert, but hope at least this works a little.
