Lightbulb Stupid question...but nevertheless.

OK this is gonna sound like a dumb question but here it goes joe. Aight on the gas lid to my OZ it says, "Use Regular Unleaded only." But in theory, you would get better fuel economy out of the more expensive Premium gas. So I dont know what to do, i mean why would the company tell you to use the cheaper stuff? Thanks guys! PS I too wonder if heaven got a ghetto.

From: delaware, what state is that in lol !!
My gas mileage is worse with higher octane gas and the reason they probably suggest regular unleaded is that our cars ecu will not gain much if anything from the higher octane gas as its programed for the cheap stuff

Just curious, but what theory says that your gas mileage will increase with the octane rating of the fuel?

Unless you're turbo'd or run high compression pistons, don't bother using a higher octane than recommended. It's just not worth the extra $.20-$.30 a gallon.

as said above, higher octane does nothing to improve gas mileage. I read a whole article on octane ratings, and if there is a difference, it can not be scientifically or physically measured. Mitsu says that so you won't go put 110 octane fuel which is bad for the ignition timing or leaded fuel which will destroy the sensors, then sue them for not telling you.
