no need for premium unless you have ecu upgrade. Read on the gas door it says use regular unleaded only b/c the ecu is tuned for regular unleaded and wont perform right with different grades of fuel. with premium fuels it might run rich and damper performance. So you might NOT get what you pay for.

There's been a discussion about this before. Search on it. I run regular unleaded, but when I get my ECU upgrade I'll be running premium.

What I like about this question is the fact that you color coded medium grade, somehow managed to spell regular incorrectly, shortened the word why, which is already monosyllibic, to just Y, and seemingly along the way forgot to interject an "in" before "my" in your last sentence.

But anyway, I personally am drunk, and I suppose this is just something you you'd find funny when intoxicated. Although I realize that I have a ways to go till I am real toasty, just evidenced by the fact that I have the presence of mind to type this cohierently... Just for ****s and giggles though, I'm going to save this post and read it in the morning maybe it will be just as funny tomorrow.

I'm just being an *** dude, no offense.

By the way, use regular 89 octane. Save the cash... anything above 89 could damage your engine over the long run, something about running a mixture to rich or something. Yada, Yada, Yada...

The reason why you want to run 89 is the fact that it's more readily combustible in this little car that doesn't have crazy timing advances, compression, or boost to deal with. With higher performance cars and modifications that change those factors, it becomes imperitive to run higher octane fuels to avoid predetonation which is essentially going to kill your engine.

When I got my car last september, I started with Chevron Regular. Tried that for a month, recording fuel mileage, then plus unleaded for a month, then premium (or supreme, whatever they call it) for a month. I found I get better gas mileage using the highest grade of Chevron gasoline, and the fact that it cleans the injectos and other crap really well.

Thanks Goldie I ran 87 all the time except for races I used 91 for the controlled burn. Honestly couldn't tell a difference between the two. Now that my ecu reflash advances the timing, I run strictly 91 (no race gas, no cheap stuff)
