Aussie EVO8 GSR

G'day EvoM. Bought my EVO 8 3 weeks ago and everytime i google something evo related this is the place i find an answer. So not a bad idea to join these forums. My name is simon and i'm from the *** end of the world down in Australia. Previously drove a cordia (not many in the states) and after finally studying myself into a better financial position, not to mention getting tired of fwd, i bought the evo.

Fairly stock car. It's received a few exterior add-ons from the ix, VG, rear diffuser plus some carbon canards. Came with a 3" Ti trust exhaust, invidia dump and HKS EVC. The previous owner was a good guy i've known for years and he put most of his money into maintenance.

So far i've added a MEEK hotside pipe, rear UR strut brace, ralliart front strut brace and a locally made aluminium undertray. Also i replaced the k&n and put a hks superduper hybrid filter, as i've got an occasional miss on gentle accelerations and noticed the maf was well covered in oil. Probably a coil but you never know. A few pics.

Will be doing a lot of reading in the next few weeks/months. So much info here.

After putting in a non-oiled panel filter and cleaning the maf the car hasn't missed once.

I've been looking for an uicp that i like and i stumbled across synapse engineering. Their standard battery uicp looks great. Too bad there is no aussie supplier. Plus i don't think they sell just the upper pipe and intake separately for the standard battery, you gotta buy the whole kit.

Does anyone know if there are any good evo shops in hawaii? Or if the postage to hawaii is reasonable? I'll be there in 2 weeks time and might be a good chance to grab some parts without having to pay the import tax our government slapped on us for goods over $1K.
