Hooking In A Xbox
Hey everyone.. im hookin a power converter to be used with an xbox in the car.. i wanna hook it up so i dont have to keep flipping the switch.. a friend suggested i hook it to the ignition.. but i have no idea where ta hook it to.. any help.. or ideas would be great
walmart sells additional cig lighters you can just wire in... splice it into the existing one and leave it under the center console so you dont see any wires... then plug the XBOX into that. Thats what Im gonna do with my PS2
i agree with if you dont smoke just discon the wires from the cig lighter and run them back to where the inverter will be...the light ring will still light up since the ligher itself has a different power source!
If you don't want the light though, you can take it off in your process of rewiring the lighter. Just pull out the light and then get something grippy to grab the "skin" of the bulb and pull. I did mine, go to JTC's "Console" thingy in the How-To section. Very informative.

yea.. so heres the result.. the cigarette lighter didnt have enough juice.. cuz its running the tv and xbox.. so i bought an extra switch and put it next to the light dimmer... and hooked that to the battery.. then the switch to the power converter for the XBOX.. and put the xbox in the back under the trunk.. like where the spare sits.. now i just flip the switch and turn the xbox on and everything works..
my friends and i are workin on this mod to put a xbox power switch on the controller.. so there would just be the controller and the tv.. no one will ever know theres even a box in there!
thanks for the advice guys
