Yeah you are way overstating the car envy thing. It's a Lancer to most people. I drove around for two years with a tomei expreme blasting even while going 5mph and a silly big intercooler with stenciled letters on and managed to not get pulled over. Drove by lots of cops. You did a dumb thing, got caught and are now trying to blame the car like its a Ferrari Enzo.

You usually get tickets for breaking a law not car envy. If a cop pulled you over because he likes your car, he will probably only give you a ticket once he realizes you complain a lot. Most cops don't car what you drive.
