I'm Dave, and I'm from CT. I just recently grabbed myself a 2011 GSR EVO with 23919 miles on it. I spent 27000 on it. It's white of course. The car is actually stock, minus the aftermarket radio which is from https://www.sygav.com/ Also, theres tein lowering springs. Also, it comes with blue calipers. Along with that, the windows are tinted. After hitting up the dealership and having the guys install my ACD/ACY relocation kit, which is from https://www.driven-fabrication.com/p...-kit-pre-order That there used to be an amp or a huge sub in the back. Cause, there was a good size thick wire that was in there, on top of that there was a backup camera that used to be working, but seemed to have been cut.
I'm coming from the Mazda platform. I had a 2011 Mazdaspeed 3 which was red. I spent close to or just beyond 5 grand in putting parts on the car. I traded it in so I could pick up the EVO, which is or was a bucket list item.
I got 2 friends around me, one is super duper knowledgeable and the other one is smart, but I don't think he knows as much as my buddy Kevin does about EVO's. I know Kevin is an EVO guy, won't look nor drive a Subaru, he's one of them dudes. It's EVO or nothing. And He runs an SRT4 skittle car :-)
About me, I drive for a living and I deliver to golf courses within CT, NJ, Long Island, and Upstate NY.
I've started to do some videos here and there, so if anyone is down to watch me fumble over my words, and whatnot
I can't believe how well these cars keep their value. My buddy Kevin said that when the car hits 100 hundred thousands, your car will still get probably 20 grand for it. I don't understand how Mits, and Subaru's keep there value so damn one, I don't think any other car can do this. Unfort, the delear couldn't come down on the price, I wanted it for 25 and something odd change but oh well.
Welcome Dave! You can learn a lot on the forum as there are many cool forum members who are constantly posting and trying to help out their fellow evo owner. I also live in CT and have owned my evo since new and will most likely never sell it! Good luck with your car and just warning you that doing mods is very addictive!!!
Hey, thanks for the warm welcomes, and to everyone. Yeah, I know modding takes sometime, and a BUTT load of CASH. I came from the speed3 platform, and I had a blast. Spent way to much money on that car, to get a 7 grand trade in for it :-(. I got my new car in Plantsvillve, CT https://www.autohouseofluxury.com/ It's an okay place, not very happy with the service they are giving me now, but it is what it is.
The guys at Midstate Mitsubishi, are at least more knowledgable then the guys at this other place where I got my car at. At least Midstate is going to accept my warranty, that I got thru Auto House Of Luxary. I got a 90 warranty from them, and an extend one.
The guy sold me on his kindness as well, now he doesn't want to seem to budge on getting stuff fix. Like for an example, when I test drived my car, i said the breaks are wonkey and need new ones, so the guy who said okay, we will have them done. So, I go in and they only put new brakes, and rotars, on the fronts, and didn't do the back. Beacuse, they said the backs were find, and the didn't even bleed the brakes either. One, would think SAFTEY FIRST!!!! Moe, who sold me my car said he has no problem in doing a brake bleed, and get new fluids in but at my expense.
Another instance is the power steering pulley some how got all banged up, see image. I don't know how this would even happen. But, they said they would fix and put the new one in. The guys at Midstate, told me most of the time, they would put a brand new pump in, just not a new pulley. So, I actually go see them tomorrow October 7th, 2019 for them to just put a pulley in. I told them I want them to ship me the pulley, so I can have it, and actually get it powder coated, because I'd like to dress up the bay area. But, they said if something gets messed up, they dont want to hear it and such. So, I got an hour and change to drive to the place tomorrow, so they can install this one part. ahh.. ehh..
Google.com reviews has the company at 4.3 as in reviews.
But, from what my buddies have told me that I'd be spending a lot less to make a quick car, unlike the crap ton I had to put into my Mazdaspeed3
Are all the EVO's, or just the tens have a notchy clunky feel of shifting? Also, Had the pump crap out on me, thank god its covered haha..
Anyone with a EVO live in Northern California? New to evoM, happy to be here. I was wondering if anyone lived up in Northern California and had the same smog laws as southern california?

nice nice, I have nothing against STIs at all I use to drive one until I drove an EVO and I just fell in love. It’s great mine is still stock which is amazing. But I did want to do some mods on it but stupid Southern California is super strict at the same time which is weird I kinda have to sell it. I have seen ppl who like evos that are lightly modified and I hear ppl like them stock. I have mods for it but I haven’t applied them. Should I leave the car stock for sale ?
California is bad, in most larger metropolitan areas. It's the sole reason I took my car out of CA's system. I tried to play by the rules but they kept changing them, so F 'em. 😂
I don't daily my Evo, so biggie.
Anyway, I'm in Central CA. Dead center. Things aren't *quite* as bad here...but it's a matter of time.
California shares the same smog laws up north but the police definitely care less about enforcing laws against exhausts and engine modification. All of the horror stories I've seen from people about massive exhaust tickets have come from down south.
