Need help

Hi so I’ve been wanting for years now and the prices have skyrocketed and I love evos but I am most definitely not paying 35k plus for a evo I’m not rich lol so I had to work with what I had and found a evo for 14k little problem was it didn’t have a engine but the owner had the engine plus 20k+ Worth of parts which was good because I was planning on making a street car not really going for the whole stock garage queen, but now I’m kinda iffy on the whole getting a built car cause there’s some things I don’t know about it but my question was should I finish building it and sell it for a stock evo and build it myself which will honestly take some time since parts are super expensive or just suck it up and learn
about the evo I currently own ( I know this is a dumb question lol) any answer will help thanks !

You bought a roller then? Or a complete car that's not put together?

That's a big question to ask and you can't answer it in one answer. You need to sit down and work out how much it's going to cost you to put it all back together and how much work you can do. What's working and what needs replacing?

It could end up could end up costing you more than getting an evo for 35k. If you dont have the funds/do the proper research ob what the car needs to be put back together properly it will not come out looking right/reliable. Evo is not for the types of people who pinch pennies. Sorry to sound alittle arrogant im just saying some truth.

Yea before buying the car I took the risk of having it stalled for a while but the car has no engine it comes with the most important pieces I might have to waste a couple hundreds or so but everything is brand new the owner didn’t have enough time for it he was already in the process of building it he has most the engine built already it’s more on putting in all the after market pieces and transfer case transmission etc…I was just wondering if I should invest in this car and sell it for another evo or keep it lol

Yea I understand what you’re saying but I didn’t buy this car without any knowledge on it the car is perfect condition just the engine is missing lol but every part necessary is here it’s honestly just after market parts that need to be put on but yea I’m gonna get it built professionally so I won’t ruin the engine

Ok here is my .02. You said your not rich and I get it. You have a car with no engine but have an engine so here is the question list

1) who built the engine?
2) what is in the engine, parts wise and what all comes with it that you can reuse?
3) you said your going to have a professional shop do this work? Ok i just had my engine built and swapped in and it was over 16k so theres something to think about.
4) If said engine is built by a respectful builder why not just use it?
5) why make things harder by going back to stock when you can just put together a car that you can pick and choose the parts you wanna use and sell the rest?

If it's in pieces and you can't wrench on it then just spend 35k and be done with it. Shop costs are an absolutely bonkers idea for mere mortals.
Unless you wanna learn your car and have you some space to work, a field can do, then ***** to a shop and put it together yourself. Save thousands, know your car and have a *****in' tool set when all is said and done.

Having been in Evo land for 18+ years, ripped crashed evos apart to sell part by part, building shells and wrenching and tuning all sorts of different level Evos, this is a stupid idea that is going to cost you way more than you think. Financially, time and your sanity. Just buy a stock Evo.

thanks for the honesty man , it’s a hard choice honestly imma put the evo to sell just to see if it sells or not if it doesn’t sell then imma have to suck it up and figure it out
