Which Size tire should I go with?
hey, I'm getting new tires for my 1.3in lowered oz rally. I need you're help in deciding which size to get for a 17in rim.

Put the 205 40-17 on . They will clear any rubs with the lowered car. AS for the the correct size. As long as you are within 3% there is no problem. Plus you don't have anti-lock brakes which is the major concern with keeping the same diameter. BTW, if you want som great Toyo Proxes 4's I have them for $81ea.

A tire distributor recommended a wrong size....what are these boards coming to? (He is right though, little to no difference between a 40 or 45 series in that width, but the TRUE correct plus size is 205-45-17, dont have any tires in that size do ya TSWIFT? lol)
Honestly, I would recommend the 45 series, because the lower profile you go, the more your going to hate your car on daily commutes. More sidewall = less back pain....

The 45 will probably rub. they are too tall for a lowered OZ. My car is lowered 1.5 and mine has a slight rub on the inside wheel tub on hard turns. Notthing to worry as it is plastic, but I have very little room on the outside edge of the fender wells. With 40's. And yes the 45 is the "exact" size.

45s do not rub. Ive autocrossed my car quite a few times, and no rub. Thats with an EIbach spring setup.
Tswift, speaking of autocross, how good is the cg lock? Im looking for something to help keep my skinny *** in those crappy Lancer seats during a run, and I was considering buying one...
