When Mitsubishi updated the manual from the Evo VII, they forgot to revise this portion. The wing on the US spec Evo VIII is NOT adjustable.

ya, the manuals say that, but they are not. i think they included that because they were going to make 'em adjustible (i guess some in the past have been), but then changed their minds.

chimp is correct. the manual was made for the evo 7 which had the adjustable wing (even the seats in the manual are the evo 7 seats) but they didn't change a few sections of the manual. the evo 8 wing is NOT adjustable

Yeah I was wondering about that part of the manual.. I believe there are other parts of the manual referring to the EVO VII...

If you feel the overwhelming need for more rear downforce, you could easily add a Gurney flap.

gurneys only help if you increase the angle of attack right? it slows the air over the top so that you don't get wing stall. it doesn't create more downforce on its own. i guess you could shift the spectrum for more downforce at higher speeds by putting on a gurney but that would be at the price of downforce at lower speeds all relatively speaking.
