not new to forums but new to EVOs, so you guys can flame me or call me a noob...
anyways...i got a few questions about the EVO and the MR model...

first, i know that most of you guys have seen the "very controversial" internet clip about an RSX Type S and an EVO making an high speed run...of course the EVO leads but it is slowly overtaken by the RSX on the top speed part...now, i know that the RSX has the 6th gear that might have helped it, so i was thinking will the MR be able to outrun the RSX Type S and its 6th gear because of its own 6th gear? or will it not be much different because of its closer ratios?

now i have some tuner questions that i hope some of you users might lend a hand with the answers.

i was reading around the Vishnu website and evom.net and theres like 2 major ecu tuners that most owners use, Vishnu, Dynoflash. now what i wanted to know is that if the dynoflash is sorta permanent unless you wanna get it changed back to stock? and, Vishnu has two kinds of ecu tuning, the XEDE and the Xflash, i wanted to know what are the differences and which one is the most user-friendly?

then theres the stage upgrades that i see around, most being buschur and vishnu upgrades, anyone mind telling me your experiences with these upgrades and which one might be "better" (hard to rate them, cuz they are different companies and products, but try, thanks)

last but not least, i was browsing some websites and they say that the extra accessories in the MR will be able to be purchased as a package is that correct? if i end up getting an EVO i would to get those new headlights...
and if you get the sun and sound package, do you get the same recaro seats only just wrapped in leather? just asking if i could spoil myself with the leather and to correct the issue about the sliding around on the leather during hard corners if i could use some 4 point harnesses? ok thanks again...

 

Welcome to the wonderful world of the Evo.

First, I have not seen the video that you are talking about, so I couldn't say but, you shouldn't base you opinion about a car over some dumb street racing video.

If you were to do a search on this form you will find many posts about the differences of the ways you can tune your car. But the short version is that the dynoflash and the xflash are about the same and the XEDE and the Utec are piggy back ECUs and are more expensive.

As for the stage upgrades, you really can't go wrong, mostly preference, though I prefer the Vishnu.

As for the different package options of the new Evos... I have no idea, I’m sure someone else can help you with that though.

 

Stock Evo isn't too strong at high speeds but it has a top speed of 150+MPH. RSX-S, I believe is around 140MPH top.
Slightly modded Evo will walk it without a problem.

 

my cousin has an rsx-s and lemme tell ya... that thing is slow lololol.. well esp downlow.

but up high, i did have an s-type give me a run for my money once . i really believe they have an advantage up high because of the 6 spd. but all ya gotta do is mod ur evo for more power and then you'll have better top speed

now wit my 3inch turbo back exhaust i kill my cousin's car downlow and up top lolol

i noticed the difference mostly in the top end pull.
