Ralliart 2.4 Exhaust
Ralliart 2.4 Exhaust
Just thought if anyone has thought of this. Okay the RA engine is the same as the Eclipse's and Galants 2.4L. The engine does have a diff displacement but i would think everything else is the same. As far as the exhaust goes shouldnt you be able to stick an aftermarket exhaust from an eclipse 00-03 on a RA??? ANyone ever checked it out. I just dont wanna wait for a exhaust i want one now so i can stick it on when i get my RA next week.
Um, I don't think that would work. From the firewall back, the eclipse and lancer are completely different cars and the exaust mounting is probably completely different. These are just guesses anyhow. Why do you want an exaust so bad? The exaust on the RAs is already free flowing, got a header. About all you can do is axle back (IMO that is pointless, all you get is noise).
Get a CAI if you want a cheap mod, doing the exaust is pretty pointless (IMO).

Captain is right, the bends are completely different. This is the same reason EVO exhausts will not work on this car as well.
If you NEED an exhaust immediately, try RRM or Ultimate Racing. They both have an axle-back system, and Ultimate has a cat-back system. All have magnaflow mufflers. You are NOT going to see much of a performance gain from these, though. You're only going to get more sound out of it. If you want more performance, look into getting the downpipe from RRM. That's where the main restriction is in our exhaust.

However, with the downpipe, expect a more raspy sound,(not good) from your exhaust. 2 of the people who had them on said it didnt sound good at all after putting the downpipe on, but the power was there.
if you just get the axle-back, you'll get a fatter, slightly raspier sound from your exhaust. This is because you get rid of the slight muffling going on in the stock muffler and replacing it with a straight-thru Magnaflow muffler.
It's when you start messing with the down-pipe/mid-pipe sections that you'll need to start adding resonators to compensate for the extra pipe diameter you're adding. The more you free up, the raspier it will get. Just think about running a car with an open header. RASP!!
the axle-back was designed so it could be run with the stock exhaust components and produce a deep sound that's not raspy or overly obtrusive. It's when you start talking cat-back exhaust and downpipe modification that you have to make sure the systems are properly resonated to keep them sounding good. Most, if not all cat-backs come with a larger resonator to keep them sounding good. You would have to add a bigger one if you were to go with the downpipe.
Adding the axleback onto a down-pipe equipped system would just open it up more, giving you more raspiness. You would have to cut out the stock resonator and add a longer one or even multiple ones, depending on how you want it to sound.
