I have a asian cop friend in LA who is a detective now and all I can say is he can go as fast as he wants and dont have to worry about anyone bothering him as long as its not reckless driving. If he gets pulled over he just flashes his badge and off he goes...not fair! hehe... Even his own dad didnt get a ticket because he made the cop call his son and my cop friend just told the officer his badge number and his dad was free to go with no fines. Too bad im not in LA anymore otherwise I would be calling him constantly for help

glad to see you aboard...cops are people too
glad you so freely answering all these questions.
we should have a legal section on here...lots of wing tickets being given out.
please post your take on the MR when you get her!

Thanks EP,
Too bad a lot of your smalltown Sheriff buddies don't know jack about taking a 'good' radar reading. If there's a number, that MUST be right. lol.
In retrospect to the violations I've recieved (some legit, some not legit) going to court sometimes entails travelling 6+ hours that usually ends up being a kangaroo court anyways. The fines hurt some, but what hurts more is points on a 'record.' Also, the prosecutor and judge usually side with the officer's testimony even before he walks in the door. Getting a set of notes is at times entirely impossible. An appeals process seems to be real risky business, in terms of money. Most courts are finely tuned revenue generators.
Hopefully you're able to infulence your po-buddies to better use their radar and situational skills.
jcnel.

EVO Police... your candor and openness is very much appreciated. You guys have a tough job and deal with difficult situations day-in and day-out. I would definitely not want to deal with all that, especially fatal traffic accidents.
Look forward to you advice and photos of your evo.

so lets say you caught yourself doing 2 mph over the speed limit...would you issue yourself a speeding ticket? then take it to court and try to fight it assuming that the issuing offiver deosn't show up?
