Blitz BOV vs HKS BOV problems

I originally planned to get a BOV since I bought my evo but have not because of issues with the MAF. Recently, people who know a lot more about cars than I do have been telling me that the only problems I would run into is my car running a little rich and stalling on quick throttle-downs. I've just read from another post that BOVs also cause some lag between shifts. Can anyone tell me if the HKS Electronic Idle Stabilizer fixes this? Or if the Blitz BOV they make specifically for the Evo is effective? If these are not effective, could I just get an ECU retune to fix it? Thanks in advance. And for flamers, yeah I do like the sound but I do plan on running higher boost in the future.

You will not experience lag with recirculated BOV. As for VTA, I recommend against it. SOme say the EIDS works, some say it doesnt. SO i cant answer that as I have never used it. I am running the Greddy Type S recirc with an HKS RS intake, so you can still hear the whistle pretty well. If you really wanna go VTA, then bypass the MAF - get a stand alone ecu. Not worth the money just to sound and look cool.

i m using the HKS SSQV...it does stall but after some tweeks, its ok now...i m not using any re-circulation kits...if u plan to go higher boost, get the Racing BOV...i dun think u need to get an after-market ECU or retune in any ways...never heard abt BOV causing lags between shifts as well...

I put the hks ssqv on about 2 weeks ago. I currently have it running vta. I ocassionaly get a little stumble at idle if I blow off and then disengage the clutch and let the rpms drop down to idle. besides that. it's all great. I have the recir fitting I'm just gonna wait till I get my intake to recir the bov. no lag between gears. hope this helps.

If you're talking about adjusting how much is recirculated and how much vents, I know off the top of my head both the HKS SSQV and the Greddy Type S allow you to dial in how much vents and how much recirculates.

ive heard nothing but good things about the works bov.
sounds loud, holds well ect. i think they vent 50% to VTA with no problems. i think?

i had the hks in for about 15 miles VTA, buschur stage one setup on the s-afc2, drop in k&n filter... CAR STALLED HARD. wouldnt turn back over for about 10 minutes. appeared to just be a flooded engine.
even with recirc and eids you still hear of some idle dips and stalls.
i did love the sound it made for those 15 miles though...

id suggest sticking with recirc. its the way the car is made. plus most valves are gonna be loud enough (especially with intake) to be heard. i love the sound of a BOV too, but id rather have a car that works well. (to me at least, dips and stalls are not considered working well)

the greddy i think needs a stiffer spring swap to work well? i know you can do a search and find out more.
