From: somewhere in this little ol' town is me. And here i am!! So why does it matter where i live? (Atlanta)
Does Mitsubishi expect to sell a lot of MRs with a price that high compared to an Sti? Not complaining, just asking. I mean, I want the 6-speed, but all the other stuff I can get rid of. I don't need the Bilsteins. I'm sure road race has a much better set-up. I'd rather have Volks instead of the BBS. Anyway, I certainly don't want to have sour grapes, but I just can't help it.

I gathered $34,199 for the MR. The $800, to me, looks included already. Thus the "INC" if you go to "LE41-G x F2."
I don't know about you guys, but I'm not paying that $800.
That's a $3,700 above the GSR.
That should include
-Research and Development for US Spec Model 6-Speed Manual Transmission
-Research and Development for US Spec Model Lightweight Roof Panel -8.8lbs
-Research and Development for US Spec Model High-Strength Aluminum Door Impact Beams -8lbs
-Research and Development for US Spec Model Lightweight Trunk -1lb
-Research and Development for US Spec Model Lightweight BBS Wheels -2.76lbs x 4
-Research and Development for US Spec Model Vortex Generators
-Research and Development for US Spec Model Active Center Differential
With MSRP for the 2004 Evolution VIII GSR at $29,999, you may add $3,700 and get $33,699. But since changes were made to up the power, which results in more Research and Development, the GSR went up in price and so does the MR.
I think the price is reasonable taking into account the changes that has been made, whether it is subtle or not. Whether it makes a difference is none of the price's concern neither. The fact is, some new parts were introduced. It would be a bad decision to include more R&D and upgrade parts but keep the price the same. The difference between overhead and actual dealer invoice price would not create more money, but less. Although many believe that a manufacturer should cater to the market, in this case it does by even taking the chance to offer this model to the US market, in reality they cater to the bottom line: USD.

The 800 bucks is included but destination is not so its 34,199 plus destination of like 600 bucks I think. So 34,800 is basically the price.
Derek
$34,200. About $1400 more than I had hoped, but not terrible. Wow, MT was almost dead on with destination, eh?
What's Mitsubishi's holdback percentage? 2%?
Kind of wish we had invoice pricing though.
