Im waiting for the 07 GT-R but not sure if im going to like the body style. I still think i will keep the EVO since it was the first one introduced to the US that should make it worth some money down the road. As far as MIVEC its a good concept but on a turbo car i really dont think it would be as effective compared to a N/A car.

As far as the EVO IX i think that it will keep all the body lines of the 8 with some small changes to the bumpers probably but i doubt we will get the skinny bumber due to our license plates being bigger then everybody elses. Only way they would be able to get away with it is inserting the plate in the trunk which i hate! but you would get the skinny bumper!.

Either way the GT-R will smoke the EVO "sorry to say" but of course it will come at a price.

You guys should really look into the Peagot's and Citrons that are coming out along with the Focus RS (i think it is nasty but hey i dont like FORD). I have a feeling Subura and Mitsu are going to have some stiff competition in the near future and better be ready to make some serious changes to keep up (Subura is already there who would ever want a boxer engine ) SORRY you SUBI guys.

Chris

indeed the skyline will beat the evo. but ive read an article that said that the skyline would have like 50 less hp then what they expect . still a very nice car , but the question is if its really worth it? price of skyline if going to be around 60k, one skyline or two evos? or an evo with 30k worth of mods? but i would certainly keep both, since they are the first of their monster series to come to the states

ok this is my theory about the evo IX. im sure many of you have seen the evo IX "spy shots"

pics of the IX: http://www.channel4.com/4car/gallery...ix/evo-ix.html

ok, when the IX comes to america, i dont think the IX will come standard with the MR accessories (black housing front and tail lights, vortex spiky stuff, rims, etc etc) but i think what will do for the american shores is still have the "standard" evo IX minus the MR accessories and still have an MR version of the IX with the MR accessories (hopefully with the lights this time). not sure about an RS model.

Their just going to have the new MIVEC engines in both the IX's (maybe they might add the S-AYC??). obviously they are going to raise the prices a little. and as someone mentioned on another thread, "what you see is not what you get" (forgot who said it), i think this will apply to the IX in america (except for the MR version). im not sure if they are going to have the same rear bumper, cuz the US plates wouldnt fit onto that bumper. (think of how they had to increase the bumper size for the USDM version). hopefully they will still have the same style and new rims. overall, IMO, the IX looks great and i cant wait until it comes next year

anyone have any other ideas or thoughts about the IX and its changes?

Sorry to burst your bubble, but the new lightnings are coming with a 6 speed manual. You think after having a 4 speed auto in the current lightning and Dodge putting a 6 speed in the Ram RT/10, Ford would just continue with the no-fun tranny?? I think not.

It's gonna be a hardcore short shifter tho, not a long-azz truck shifter like the Dodge.

Remember the EvoMR was essentially an Evo 8.5, much like the TME was the Evo 6.5. I wouldn't expect the "MR" tag to carry over into future Evo models. Expect the GSR and RS versions here in the US - it'd be nice if we could get the RSII's, as well.

sorry to burst YOUR bubble, but Ford isn't going to make the 06 Lightning.

The bumper definitely looks good. They could work something out there, I bet. Make the black part a bit thinner to accomodate our tall plates. Other then that, I think the 8 looks better!

"sorry to say", but from what I've learned is that the GT-R is not going to be a GT-R at all, but rather a 350z with a turbo, and they all seem to suck outside of drifting.

Evo 9 may come out sooner than we thick and it may be considered to be an evo 8.5 because it is based on the mid 2004 lancer cedia shared with the evo 8. Prototypes and test cars are already in japan.

This is what I'm confused about... the Lancer Cedia has already been used as the base for both the Evo7/8. Mitsu's never used the same base for more than 2 cars, MAX. So it's strange to see them spit out yet another Evo based on the CT9A chassis even though it's already 4-5 years old. Plus, the EvoMR was more of an Evo8.5 than anything... the Evo9 just seems suspect, and I'm wondering if it's more of a marketing gimmick than anything.
