I believe there was a post which showed photos of the next Evo, and the Evo wagon. From the front it basically looks the same except that Mitsubishi made the smart move by removing the forked nose making it look more like the Evo 7.

BTW, I've never seen anyone bump a thread after only 4 minutes.

I would expect the price to be about the same as a EVO 8. Around the 28,000 - 30,000 range.

From: Texas...panhandle...ugh
Just picked up the Feb '05 issue of Sport Compact Car (where they voted the Evo 8 to be SCC Car of the year! YEY!).

It has a profile of the Evo 9 (with pics):

New front bumper, new rear bumper...all the stuff on the MR (grrrr....I spent a bunch to get that stuff) and a whole bunch more HP (they do quote "around 310-315"..."output similar to the FQ300")

I can almost gaurantee you the price will not be 30 grand. It is coming with the same features as the MR as of now. So expect the price to be probably at least in the 32-33 range. You'll be lucky to get an RS for under 30K I bet with the Evo 9. Hell the 05' RS is about as much as the oringinal 03's cost.

does anyone get the feeling that mitsu is trying to suck US dry to help there money woes? seems like they want us to trade in every 2 years because they are quickly getting bigger and badder

Welcome to the world of EVOLUTION...

Most car manufacturers do it too.. headlight changes, different engine options etc

There's always a new model every other year if not yearly... the thing about Evos IMHO is that it might be more feasible to upgrade yr existing ride than to get a new one...

The MIVEC turbo does sound sexy, but there might be limited upgrade options in the future since no other third parties (Jun, Tomer, HKS, Piper etc) will have any upgrade cams for it any time soon.

But if I was in the market for a new ride, I'd get the 9 or X or whichever is around :P
