Cheaper 05 Evo
yeah, to be honest, i'd never gone and seen any, just was doin my homework, and decided to call and stop by the local dealer tonight.
Needless to say, i was damn near almost pulled in by the silver mr. I'd want blue and a 9, but it almost took me.

I don't know if they'll still have one, but if you can find a smallish dealer with a few cars (like 5) that keeps them in the back, it's possible. I'm trying to do the same as you (wait until the IX comes and buy the VIII) I'll see how fast the Evos go and judge based on that.

I shopped around last year when the 05s came out and even the dealers that had 04s kept giving me well its still 2004 so the car is new and wouldnt get under invoice. I found a few dealers in other states that would but none really close. They wont discount them much from what I have read on these forums.
CHEAPER, if thats what it is about then the evo is not for you. I hear they are giving good deals on the GTO. lol
I'd say number one is clutch. The second thing might be checking the vacuum lines to see if they've been tapped (if looking for stock car). Look throughout the engine bay to see if everything looks stock. Drive the car quite a lot, enough so that you feel it's in good working order. Make sure the clutch works fine and there is no grinding in any gears. If they have a boost guage pay attention to that. If they have engine management ask who tuned it and a/f ratio. If they have an MBC or EBC ask what the boost setting is. There's tons of stuff, too much for one post I'd say. Keep in mind a stock car is easier to inspect than a modded one.
Oh ya, buy one from someone you can trust.
