I don't think anyone knows for sure...........

The USDM turbo code for the IX is TD05HR-16G6C-10.5T.

I heard spool is quicker on the USDM IX. Could that be any indication on the new turbine? I'd like an MgTi in the US market IX. I won't miss the SAYC, if we get that. ;p

SAYC, we were told by MMNA when the VIII MR was due out, that there is no SAYC due to packaging constraints, same with the Intercooler water sprayer, well I looked at a European Mitsu site the other day and they have the left hand drive VIII with all the trimmings. So what is the deal with that.
The American market could have all the trimmings, they choose not to. But the American market does get the longer warranty though, for what that is worth.
It would be nice if they offered the MgTi turbo, as burning money said I wish we knew what colors are going to be available for the IX
I really want a black IX MR

i'm pretty sure its also not pure magnesium but some sort of alloy, which won't burn in nearly the same fashion. still, the thought of a magnesium/titanium turbo... *drools*

Well almost anything I can think of that's made of titanium is not in pure form either. A lot of these more exotic metals are alloys when applied probably to make up for certain weaknesses. I forgot where I read about titanium in this regard. From what I remember, it might have been much too soft in pure form or something along those lines.

Don't think we getting that at all, you know the US market we get the watered down versions.

have any of you guys seen magnesium burn ? when i was younger in boyscouts that was one of the things we would take w/us to start camp fires, you cut a little piece off a stick and light it up and it burns like crazy, sounds like a nutty idea to me to make a turbo out of it, but i dont know the exact science of it for how much heat it takes to set it a blaze but i would hope its not possible, just seems crazy to me still.

If you wanna see something really cool, take Sodium, Potassium, or Lithium in its pure form and throw it in water.

I only sport turbos made of platinum or gold on my ride...
