Dodge and Mitsubishi to Share Neon Platform | [MERGED]
the caliber looks like it is too big and heavy, and the specs aren't that impressive. i'm just happy the caliber didn't use the 4G63. no matter, stock for stock, the evo will always hand it to the SRT-4.
Mitsu gave Dodge a DUD
The GS platform Daimler Chrysler has and the one Mitsu has, are different. Kind of a poison pill thanks for the BFing us parting gift. The Mitsu platform base, is better than DCx, also, the Evo will be moreso. Rest those tired heads folks, Mitsubishi is more ad vanced in platform technology than Chrysler. Mercedes was considering Mitsubishi #2 in the brief merger. Chrysler was to be thier cheap brand. Just those panicky bean counters and confidence lacking Chrysler boys that engineered the kabosh.
They have an AWD version in europe, they have the sweeeet VW/Audi 2.0 TDI motor as well. Why in the world should we get excited about this car when it has only FWD and will be owned by the very capable MazdaSpeed 3?
If Dodge wanted to get into something new and push the STIs and Evos of the world they should have gone AWD even if it was a poor copy of the Evo.
Then again I guess that they have an agreement to not do so to help save Evo sales.
As for Dodge in WRC, expect to see them attack G5 in rally america as the group is dominated by Neon SRT4s as it is. Only thing is who would they get to drive the car?
