I have read that mitsu, dodge and hyundai will all use a universal motor that will go in the Evo starting with the Evo X and the 4g63 will no longer be used, Evo IX will be the last year using the 4g63 with the addition of MIVEC but dont know how accurate this is, this is something i have read and heard from a subaru rep also

i couldnt find any of that info using that page/link, but what i did read on the first page of the link was;
Due to the speculative nature of this type of information, we can't guarantee that every change we report on here will make it to a showroom floor near you
so that basiclly says that everything on there is rumors

I saw some pictures of the Evo X test mule, basically the new Lancer with some flaired fenders and in the article they said the motor is most likely going to be a 300hp Mivec, they didn't say whether it was a 4G63; they did say that the platform is going to be the basis for the PT Cruiser and other Dodge products. Hopefully the platform is a revised Evo chasis and not some new hybrid Dodge/ Mits chasis which they're going to use for the Lancer, Evo, PT Cruiser, etc... The only cool thing they mentioned is that Mits might use a dual clutch paddle shift system in the X.

I would act like I never even owned an evo if Dodge starts to make them. F uck Dodge (one of the worst car makers imo out there today) and all american cars. I hate american cars they all suck and fall apart to fast. My import is the only one worth my cash so far.

Same here I will not drive a dodge EVO I will just sell my 8 and get me a nine and put it in the garage so it doesn't have to see what happened to the rest of the evo's after dodge got ahold of them.

would you Mopar bashers like to know something funny? Dodge created the Lancer name. Dodge made the first Lancer in 1960. it lasted until 1963 when it was replaced by the Dart. Then, the Lancer name was reintroduced in the 80's and was out there until 1989.

so, who's taking sloppy seconds on the name Lancer? Mitsu ain't exactly lily-white.
