Unless
's involvement in the WRC ends there will always be a 4 cyl. 2.0L Lancer, and let me remind you all the the dsm's save the 3000gt/gto were never availible in japan, and their layout was different then the evo, I don't see mitsubishi abandoning their flagship WRC vehicle away for some half-assed v-6 powered american co-effort

What We Know: The 2007 Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution X will be an all new feature vehicle when it appears in 2006. While the Lancer Evolution IX received a facelift and some other minor changes when it went on sale this year, the Evo X will more or less be rebuilt from the ground up on a brand-new platform which it will share with the next-generation versions of the Chrysler PT Cruiser, Dodge Caliber, and even the Mitsubishi Outlander SUV. In addition to the new sheetmetal on the outside, this new Evo will get more power as well. Underneath the hood, the 2007 Lancer Evolution X will feature a slightly more powerful version of its turbocharged MIVEC 2.0-liter four-cylinder, with horsepower boosted past the 300 mark.

Even if "dodge" assumes control of the Evo, which I doubt...it's not as if Dodge owns 40% of mitsubishi, Daimler does...

As for Dodge's diesel cummings engine perfected by mercedes, it's the best of the 3...

Actually Isuzu helped design the latest diesel engines for the Chevy/GMC heavy duty trucks. The diesel engines used by Fords(Powerstroke) are actually made by International and are great engines. Cummins diesels in Dodge are great just have weak tranny's.
Chevy and GMC now use Allison tranny's because their previous tranny's were just as weak at Dodge's.
Please people!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
You all sound like a bunch of Special Ed kids! Mitsu will not drop the Evo and give it to Dodge. That is just assnine. Mitsu is going in with a JOINT EFFORT with D/C to use the same CHASSIS for a few cars. Mitsu will then develop the car from there, on their own. Dodge will have NOTHING! to do with the EVO!...NOTHING! It may share a basic chassis with a neon type car/sized car and that is about it. The EVO is Mitsus Pride and Joy! No...it isn't their bread and butter car, which keeps the company afloat. But, is a car that they do much of their R and D on, for their other cars. The Evo is more important to Mitsu as a company than people think it is.
So please stop acting like we are going to get a DODGE EVO....cause it ain't going to happen. The Evo isn't going anywhere.
Mitsu, from what I have been hearing from the people at the plant in Normal, are starting to see the light at the end of the tunnel. Workers at the plant have good moral and are working overtime again building Eclipses. That is an excellent thing people!!! They cut production down to like 2 or 3 days back when this whole money thing surfaced. But, the Eclipse is getting awesome press! And things are starting to take a turn for the better. No, Mitsu is not out of the dark yet. But, if Mitsu, keeps what they are doing, they will have no problem getting out of this mess...IMHO.

May the eclipse not eclipse Mitsu's future. . . .[yoda talk off]. . . I think the new eclipses are actually pretty hot, the interiors are fun, exteriors smooth and stylish, and engine stout. . .

DCX no longer has controlling interest in MMC. Mitsubishi Heavy does, and they are running the company. DCX's share is 20% or less.
Dodge Evo
Where do you guys get this BS from?
