I REFUSE to pay STICKER PRICE for a CAR! Even if it is an EVO IX MR
yeah that's right....im going to look at an EVO IX MR saturday morning. they don't have the color i want yet, but will in a week or so. I'm not buying till the end of november, but i will put a deposit to hold the car till then. then in november i'll go back and do the paper work, the fighting, kicking, negotiating, strangling, all the fun stuff. there's no way i'm paying sticker for that thing tho. the dealership is already doing a thing where if i buy the car i get the windows tinted for free, which is a start...but that's not gonna cut it. best way to get a good deal is to pit two sales people against each other. i've got two sales people at the same dealership both fighting for the same deal. whichever one i do go to, once we've gotten to the lowest price he can do, im just going to pull out my cell, call the other guy and see if he can beat it. if neither of them can do better, i'll just call the other two mitsu dealerships in the area and see if they can do better. somebody's going to sell me the car for what i want to pay for it. my biggest advantage is that i was in auto sales for a year and a half, and was better at it than the people trying to sell me the car. i love buying cars. beating up on salespeople is how i get my jollies. i'll keep you guys updated on how it goes. anybody who pays over sticker for a car is an idiot. as for paying full MSRP, sometimes u gotta do what u gotta do...but i can't see not even at least trying to get a better deal. good luck to everybody else out there about to go through the same thing. stand tough, stay in control, get what you want. stick to your guns, and walk if the deal isn't what you want. what one salesman won't do, there's plenty other's more than willing. easiest way to get a better deal is just walk out of one salesman's office and into the one next to it. say, well that guy was no help, what can you do for me? that'll throw'em off for sure haha....well i'm out, peacE

For one, it would help to either choose all caps for your title or lower case, just pick one. Also, there is something called a paragraph. Anyway, I read through the blob and feel your sympathy and frustration that they don't have what you want, but consider yourself lucky. Most dealerships don't even have their IX shipments yet. Good luck with the dealing. When I bought my evo, my dad was with me and his whole life of being a salesman helped a TON (he has been in the auto business for 5 years alone).

i haven't had a day off since september 18th. i've been up since 4:45 this morning for work. i just finshed playin ball for 3 hours. paragraphs are the last thing on my mind. don't judge the article because of a few capital letters. judge it on content, or just stay off the thread.

ok, i read your post and i agree that you should get the car you want for the price you want (within reason of course). if you are in no rush to buy the car than you are in a good spot because you can just wait it out a bit and get one for a good price after all the craze dies down.

i'm not going to offer them anything at all. whoever does the most talking, loses the battle. silence is the best weapon. easiest way to control a conversation is to react to what they say. not give them the chance to react to your opinions. i know how to handle car salesmen. i was one. a damn good one. im going to handle these guys to same way i did when my brothe bought his lancer RA. my mom and brother went in alone and got the car (big mistake.) i looked over the contract, and realized that they paid way more than they should have. The next morning we went back to the dealership, and when i was done they got the car for 2300 less than they paid the day before. that was fun. this will be too.

oh i am in a rush to buy it. i want it like yesterday lol they don't need to know that though. they need to know i'm a serious buyer, and that i can buy whatever i want. that's all they need to know. all you've got to do is make them want to sell you the car more than you want to buy it. not that hard, especially when you've got other sales people they work with fighting for the deal. just use their own backstabbing ways against them.
