...just another Katrina 'victim' blowing his FEMA/Red Cross money...

Just kidding ODUB!! I read somewhere that Louisiana residents paid the highest prices for cars compared to sticker price. Being originally from SE TX, I know they aren't generally that bright. If you can pull it off anywhere, it would be LA.

BTW, which plant do you work at? A ChE I graduated with in '04 is working at a Citgo Refinery in Lake Charles. To everyone else - his description of the auto market in LA is right on. Considering the depressed economy from Katrina and Rita (btw my family still hasn't moved back to Beaumont), and I bet most dealers in LA will be trying their best to NOT even take delivery on EVO IXs and will be glad to get rid of them wherever they can.

first off i never applied for any of that money because i don't need it, and it would be wrong to take it when so many others do. i work for citgo in lake charles. i don't work at the main refinery, i work at the lubes and wax plant. finally some people with some sense start to post. why didn't you guys show up sooner? lol and you're right. the mitsu dealership here in lake charles said that they aren't getting any, and actually told me to go to houston to get one.

to the dumbass talking about someone not cutting it in auto sales: i cut it just fine. my first month on the job i led my sales team to second in the company with a total of 5 salespeople. the first place team finished 3 units ahead of us, with 10 salespeople on the team. i cut it just fine. i didn't like the hours, and i really don't like sales. i took the job to make good money until a job opened in the field i have a degree in. since you wanted to know, i'm a process operator for citgo petroleum.

haters, haters, haters. to the people that made points about LA being a dead market for EVO's, thank you. to the people who know that salespeople, and sales managers are not Gods, and will cave if you hit them right, thank you. to the people who wish me luck because they too know it's retarded to pay full price for anything without trying to get a better deal, thank you. to the rest of you, better hurry or the short bus is gonna leave you and 3240 behind again.
"Summer of '95." So I was right, I've had more cars than years that you've been alive. Thanks for the entertaiment.

BTW, have they stopped teaching grammar in college?

Also, the "short bus" that I'm riding on is something that you'll only be able to dream about.

This implies the car will sit at the dealership until you negotiate the price. I understand what first right of refusal is. It arrives in a "week" or so, but you say they're going to hold off on selling it till you come in to negotiate at the end of November, someone could walk in and offer sticker and they can't sell it. BS.

You probably didn't make it 90 days in sales. Troll.

"i knew they would NEVER go under sticker." how do you know? you didn't even try. you don't know sh it. you're just another ***** scared to get told no. when you grow a pair someday maybe you'll learn that you can get just about anything you want if you aren't afraid to try. until then, have fun buying year old new cars.
Who said I never tried? When the 03 and 04 were out I tried and boy was I wrong. I've been kicked out of many dealerships for asking for invoice price on the car.

Ok, go get your car for under MSRP. You would prove your point if you get it for $1 under MSRP, so what? so you can buy a extra can of soda? What is the point of posting all this crap BEFORE your purchase anyway? To boast that you can do it when it hasn't happened yet? Oh, I'm so impressed.

Let's see the results after your purchase and stop wasting everyone's time showing off. Talk is cheap.

Sup GP?!

This thread is pure comedy in poorly formatted text.

I can TELL this kid (and I say kid, because that's how he's acting) has never worked in automotive sales, or for Mitsubishi. He's a grinder, and a big ego, trash talking one at that. He likes to be "in charge" of the whole sales process. Typical "director" personality. Maybe he's seen a few Zeigler videos, or Carbone, or maybe read a few Buying Cars For Dummies books. Either way, he's in waaaay over his head.

First off, pitting two salesmen against each other will result in a split-mini-deal. Which means $50 a piece off of a $36k car with maybe $1500 to $2000 worth of markup. In addition, we're charging $3500 in Market Adjustment on the MR, because they're only making 1500 total. That translates into 2 per dealership for the entire model year. So, essentially, you're going to be asking for a split-mini-deal on a car they're going to have to tint, ship there and then lose money on, instead of making $5000 worth of profit - which someone WILL pay.

Lay off the pipe.

You may be big fish in your little pond of sales at Citgo, but when it comes to car sales, you're chum.

I look forward to your next post about how you got all mad and blew out of the dealership, and went and bought a Tiburon GT (6 SPEED!!!) below invoice because Mitsubishi is going out of business soon.

But before you ask, yes, I do sell Mitsubishi's, and no, you won't be buying an Evo IX MR Edition anytime soon. Flame on!

I don't know about 2 per dealership... a local dealer just sold 6 Evo 9 MRs in 1 weekend and more MRs arriving soon for people on the waiting list. But yes, they sure did not sell for under sticker.

to the guy talking about a dealer selling 9 EVO IX MR's...im in LOUISIANA...in 9 years our dealerships would see 9 evo's. since the EVO has been out i'd bet the state has bearly had that many. to the other people who say i'm talking ****: all i said when i posted is that it's ridiculous to pay sticker for any car, and i'm not going to do it. then dumbasses started ruining the thread, and i'm defending myself. to the person that said i was never in sales, and didn't work for mitsu. you're half right. i was in sales, but i never worked for mitsu because other than the EVO, everything mitsu makes is garbage. i'd never knowingly sell a customer something i new wasn't worth selling. i didn't even like selling used mitsu's. we rarely got any because the used car manager rarely traded for them. when somebody traded in a mitsubishi product, it normally got shipped directly to auction. bottom line, i'm buying an evo, and i'm not paying sticker. i'm leaving for houston in a little while to go chill with my boys and then hit a gym out there to play some ball. tomorrow morning i'm making my rounds at every dealership in houston. i don't know how much under sticker i'm shooting for with the car, but anything is better than nothing. if all i get is 500 bucks off, compared to what the rest of you paid, that's good enough. they've already agreed to tint the windows for free, so i'm off to a good start. i recieved an email earlier from a 3rd salesperson at the same dealership, and now he's telling me the other two can't help me out, and that i should talk to him about the car. the plan is already working lol. somebody said something about it being wrong for sales people to backstab each other and for the dealership to let it happen and blah blah blah. one question... should i care? lol i don't care what goes on between salespeople and the dealership they work for. the only thing i'm concerned with is the bottom line on my car purchase. none of that other sh it has anything to do with me, so why would i care? anyway, i'm gettin ready to roll out. tomorrow night when i get back im going out, then sunday i've got to go out of town again, so sometime monday i'll probably post about how the dealership visits went.

The supply of MR is very limited, if you don't want to pay for full MSRP, somebody else will, this is not a car that will not sell, this is not a LANCER!!!

no dealer is going to hold the car for a long time, if a person walks in and offer the MSRP for the car they will not want to deal with you, OdUb
