hahahahah update already...im getting ready to leave right now. before i could walk out of the door, one of the salespeople called me. he called to see what time i would be coming to see him tomorrow. i told him that i was going to see the other guy because i've been dealing with him longer. then i told him that i've been hearing that everybody's selling the things at sticker. i went on to say that if all of you are selling me the car at the same the same price, then it doesn't matter where i get it. i told him i'd just get it from the guy i started working with first. next words out of his mouth were, "i'll discount the car." we talked for another 5 minutes, he wants to sell that MR pretty bad and he sounds like the weakest of the 3 so far. he's already agreeing to try and discount the car for me as much as he can. what that means, i don't know. but it is a start. i'f i can get 500-1000 off and a free window tint, i'll be happy. =) put down the haterade and watch a man work...peacE

please, nobody else post this. THIS IS NOT CALIFORNIA. NOBODY HERE WANTS EVO's. THIS STATE GETS MAYBE 5-10 EVO'S A YEAR, AND THE DEALERSHIPS THAT DO GET THEM DON'T WANT THEM. YES, THEY ARE THAT HARD TO SELL HERE. when it comes to evo's, louisiana is a buyer's market. i've already had one guy throw in a free window tint, and another offer to discount the car. before this is over, one of them will do both, and i'll drive off in an EVO IX MR. as for holding the car for a long time, that won't be neccessary. i plan to work the figures, and sign a buyer's order on the car tomorrow. i'll leave a 4000 deposit on the car for now, then in a couple weeks i'll bring the other 6000 for down payment. if they'll hold a check for the 10,000 downpayment for a couple weeks, i'll just go ahead and take the car home tomorrow.

another thing i have to ask. why are you people so negative? what's with all this, "it can't be done," business? what kind of attitude is that to have when you're going into a fight that you will need everything you've got to win? i can tell none of you idiots ever played any sports, or worked in business, or have ever competed in anything. if you have, i can tell you weren't any good at it. no way you could have been with these loser attitudes. when you go into a battle, you cover all of your bases first. think about every angle you could hit the situation from, and find out as much information as possible. then you make sure you only focus on the reasons it will work, not on the reasons it won't. if you constantly sit around saying you're going to lose, then guess what. you're going to lose. i don't have the loser mentality. i don't lose. i go in, i play rough, i fight for what i want, and don't stop until i get it. i don't understand why you would want to have any other attitude when buying anything, especially a car. i will say one thing, mitsubishi's sales and marketing department have really done their job well. they've got all of you idiots broken before you even walk through the doors. they've got you convinced that sticker is not only the best deal, but the only deal in the whole world. when somebody tells you it can't be done, you just accept it? wtf? i love a challenge. i want you to tell me it can't be done. i want to hear it over, and over, and over again just to make it even funnier when i get it done. if it can't be done i have to see it for myself. nothing's impossible, it just takes one person to find a way to do it. stop believing what the sales people and the internet tells you. go out and find out for yourself. that's what i do. that's why i'm not paying sticker for this car. peacE

one more added to the growing list of dumbasses. nobody knows everything, but i know alot more about the situation i'm facing right now than you do. good to see you're still hating, and not backpeddling like the other guy. i don't agree with what you have to say, but i respect a man that doesn't change his position. if you showed that kind of determination when buying a car, you wouldn't have to pay sticker either.

oh and the 100.00 over invoice thing is funny. when i worked for the dealership i got my cars for invoice or less. they charged some salespeople 1000.00 over. they didn't to the ones who simply pointed out, "we sell these cars to customers at invoice all the time if we have to. i'm a customer too, and i'm sure as hell not paying more than some ******* off the street because he raised hell and i didn't." the ones who laid down, paid 1000.00 over. the ones who said im not paying, got what they wanted. i could still go back there today and buy an 06 S2000 and get that ***** for invoice if i wanted one. anything's possible if you know what you're up against well enough to know how to defeat it.

You know how it is! You sound like you have some experience. I am sure you will get the deal you are looking for!
Just consider my offer as a back up plan. It is always good to have a back up plan and a friend in the business. Im sure I could do better, but I feel that $100.00 over invoice is a fair and reasonable deal for an employee. Just like I feel that MSRP is a fair and reasonable deal for a customer.
I dont walk into Citgo and negotiate the price of your gasoline! See what I am saying?

Also, you're not going to get an Evo IX MR for under sticker yet. And what makes you think that a salesperson has the authority to discount this car? Keep me posted though as I find you to be comical.

and as for you... lead moron on duty. kiss my a ss. the salesperson has alot more power than you think. if you can get two salespeople fighting over a deal, you've got something. if you can get a salesperson fighting his salesmanger for you, then you are IN THERE. if the salesperson really wants the deal, he'll do what it takes. i can remember many deals when my manager didn't want to cut when he should, and wanted to cut when he shouldn't. so i just found ways to get around him, and get the deal done. if a salesperson has worked a customer long and hard enough, and the customer is a serious buyer and wants something reasonable, that sales manager will not let the deal go. i'm not asking for anything crazy. i don't know who started the whole, "you want some super discount, greatest deal ever, invoice," blah blah blah. all i said was that i wasn't paying sticker, and that i was gonna get a deal i could be happy with. 500-1000 off will do it for me. i've already got the free window tint no matter what because it's a dealership wide promotion on 05's. i talked my way into getting it on the 06. didn't take much. voice inflection will do wonders. i didn't say anything too forceful, i just said it in a tone that made it sound like it would be a deal breaker if the free tint wasn't included. he offered to pay for the tint himself (out of the gross i'm assuming, which is discounting the car right there). the other guy just said he'd come off the price when i pointed out that if you're all going to sell it for the same price then it doesn't matter where i get it from. i told him if that was the case i'd get it from the guy i'd been working with longer. another effective tactic is my demeanor. i dont get excited about anything. i'm laid back, and i generally just don't care. they could say they were giving me the car for free, and the biggest reaction out of me would be, "ok," with the same, "i don't give a ****," face. they think i'm about to walk out at all times so they are trying to keep me there. alright, enough on the lessons, i'm going to get something to eat and see what i can get into out here in H-town...peacE

Free window tint on a car that you don't own yet. You're the man.
