MBC spikes to 25psi and CEL is on now!

Just got a shop to install my hallman boost controller with the in-cabin controller. After we left, I just crusied around for a while. Finally I got on it and it spikes up to like 25-26 and tapers down a little bit.

Then after a while my check engine light comes on ! WTF ?!

Car is stock except for 3" TBE.

Any info will be helpful. Thx

i'm willing to bet you were to check your code reader it would saying wasgate "something and something". can't remember exactly.

+ 5, I had this same problem...... Turn your boost down until it doesn't do it. Then go to AutoZone and have them reset your codes.

that is WAY to much boost, couple more times and you could do serious damage, you need to set it to 20. turn controller all the way down, that is around 11psi get on the road and put it in 3rd at low rpm 2500 or so, floor it and watch boost creep, it will be at full boost by 3000-3200, that is your peak, set it so that it hits 20 there. Do not try to adjust in 1st or 2nd gear as they dont hold boost.

I have an 05 and I see you have on 06. Are boost spikes to 21 psi and tapers to 18. Do you know how far we can turn are boost up?

It all depend what octane you're running, on a 91 octane, I wouldn't do it more than 21psi. Even if you do turn it up more than that, without a flash or tune, you'll more likely to hit boost cut.

Just disconnect the battery and hook it back up again, it'll go away. No need to take it to anywhere.

ditto, unless your flashed i wouldnt go above 20-21. I used to have an 04 and ran 21.5 daily with no problems. Havent even hit boost in my new car yet, breakin her in slowly, plus dont have gauge yet, but getting the defi bf boost gauge and controller very soon.

i think the same thing just happened to me 15 min ago. but i went for a spirited drive then stopped at a friends house. i left his house and just drove about 50 ft and my check engine light suddenly came on. i dont think my boost spiked to 25 though. i've been monitoring my boost and it's only gone as high as 22.8psi. i'm driving an 05 with 720 injectors, pump, TBE, and tuned with safcII.

it's a cold night and my car SEEMS to be driving fine, however it might have been my imagination but i think i heard a sound from underneath the car as i was pulling into my garage.
