From what I read in the article it has three trims is the GT-S gonna be the evo or the Evo is gonna be on its own platform? I also didnt see any mention of the Ralliart or Oz Rally editions they currently have... so many questions LOL.

Looks great IMO, the only things i'm not liking are the big a$$ side mirrors.

 

I'm thinking that DE/SE/GTS are all 153hp base models, the Ralliart/EVO models are going to be the Turbo AWD to go after the WRX and STI. Hopefuly they will have the RA and EVO at the auto show coming up. So far so good though

 

 

That is a lot of plastic under the hood. I like the new body though. Looks much less "econo-box" and more luxury sedan-ish.

 

volvo front, mazda6 back.. better than current base lancer though..

 

there won't be a 2.4 litre for the ralliart version
evo x and lancer ralliart will have the same egine

4B11T DOHC MIVEC 300HP EVO X
4B11T DOHC MIVEC 240HP RALLIART (detuned, of course it won't have some engine tweaks and tech like evo x)

the 152hp 2.0 is the normal aspirated 4B11 dohc mivec

i don't know if lancer ralliart will have a LSD, 4wd or awd whatever

i've seen european spec lancer (in white color, looks more elegant)

new lancer is riding on a newly developed global platform that mitsu made and is sharing it with chrysler (chrysler only had a small input)

new engines are from GEMA alliance, but they only share the same engine block

only mitsubishi's engines form gema have MIVEC and so on
engines are made in japan at mitsubishi's Shiga plant

also next year mitsu will also release a 5door hathback (concept sportback) for the eu market (not sure about US)

basically mitsubishi made the base lancer of the concept x, not only evo x which wont be as toned down as this lancer IMO

 

Is it me, or does the '08 Lancer remind me of the current BMW 3 Series sedan?

I think it looks nice overall. If the rumored Ralliart version is basically a detuned Evo and a WRX-fighter, I'll buy that one, as long as the price is under $25K.

looks like a volvo ftl. i'm glad i have my IX, it looks much more aggressive imo.
