Death of the EVO!!!

While watching WRC, I notice there is only one paddle shifter for the purpose of shifting up. There is no shift down paddle. I'm pretty sure that WRC transmissions shift down automatically.

A manual tans down the line but for now the auto will be mitsubishi version of the volkswagan DSG gear box. If it is like the DSG, than thats the best gear box you will want. From what I understand, The DSG has dual clutchs. One clutch disengages and the other one engages the next gear at the same time, which translate to extreamly fast gear changes. Unlike automatic tans, it will be as efficiency as manuals. The only down fall is upgrading clutches will cost twice as much.

idk but something in my gut tells me these new trannies will prove to be a pain in the rear to people who decide to push this new evo to higher horses...

The one single paddle shifter on WRC cars does double duty. When the driver pulls the lever it up-shifts. When he pushes the lever it downshifts. The driver will blip the throttle when pushing the lever.
The Evo X of course can be modded so the right paddle lever can mimic the WRC paddle action.

i got thru sum of the pages and didnt see what i wanted, maybe this has already been answered but will the X be coming in a 6-speed manual transmission like the MR?

Have you even watched a rally? All those cars use DSGs, not manuals, the same type of auto that's coming in the Evo.
