Well I dont mind if people compare my car to an Audi hell that is better then having your car compared to a Kai or a Hyndai LOL But all cars have similar looks to them I love my GTS and if I was willing to spend more money on a car payment instead of a house i would buy an X. This thread is like asking people what is your favorite color! Mine is blue HEHE Electric Blue. Not everyone likes blue some kinda like it some dont like it and some people dont even no what blue looks like HEHE they are color blind Opinions are like buttholes everyone has one

 

definetly not better looking then the 7 8 or 9. they should have left the same body and what not and decided it was time for a new front bumper and wing like they did with the previous models.

 

IMHO the Evo VI, VII, VIII and IX have a special character that makes them
unique and different.

While the X looks decent, it appears more generic and commonplace.

The Evo X sort looks like a mutated Mazda, Audi, Honda, Hyundai.

I just mainly think the X looks to similar to many other cars on the market today,
thus making it lose it's special character.

 

Evo X is for the mass market. Evo 1-9 never really made mitsu money it was more of a statement "we can make a excellent all around performer without charging 70-100k" Watch best motoring and listen to the actual engineers who worked on the CT9A. Evo 1/2/3/4/5/6/6.5RS/7/8/9/9SE/ FTW! The EVO X will be selling around 40-50k thats like a 10k profit for every Evo X sold. I would rather wait and just pick up a used 2008 skyline.

 

Alot of people said they didnt like the new Lancer from looking at it on paper. But now that they have seen one in person/test driven one they have been changing there minds. I will look back at this thread when the EVO X has beeen out for 3-4 months and see who has changed there mind then. I am sure that some people who say they dont like it now will have a slightly different opinion once they come out and they see them in person. LOL they still wont let you test drive one tho at least not in INDY .

 

The X is a good looking car, Not better then the VII,VIII, or IX. what I liked about the previous Evo's is that they were so different then the base lancer's and the new Evo isnt as drastically different the the base lancer. Before everything was different including headlights and taillights. On the X they look the same as the base lancer.

 

How it looks does not matter. The Evo was never about looks. It was always about performance. The only question that needs to be asked is, "will it perform better than the current Evo?" The answer to that question is that we don't know yet. We all need to wait and see, then pass judgement.

 

Handeling wise, Probably but its hard to say. Speed wise, Probably not.

 

Actually it is only the CTxA chassis that looks different than the normal Lancers. Evos 1-6 looks completely alike with the exception of bumpers, hood, skirts, fenders, etc.

 

Well if u look at the Evos history, every after 3 models, they start off building on a new chassis. Evo 1-3 --> CE chassis, 4 - 6 --> CN/CP chassis, 7-9 --> CT. So hence, the new chassis.

 

What's the code name for the new chassis?

 

When I said previous Evo's I ment the VII,VIII, and IX. Not 1-6. I was meaning previous to the Evo X.

hands down ix over the x. viii and ix, i hate the stupid part of the bumper that goes over the front grille on the viii's.

Seriously, I love the IX as much as the next person... and I envy all you lucky ***** who drive one but c'mon... the base lancer that it shares it's frame with is straight out bleeeeh.

Say what you want but the X is not bad looking. Mitsubishi actually made the base Lancer into an attractive car that won't scare people away. When people look at the Evo.. they will see the resemblance in the car somehow being related to the Lancer. Nobody's gonna argue that this base lancer > any lancer before it... and tho the X vs. the IX looks wise will be a continuous argument, but I'll take the X since IMO it isn't bad looking (pretty sexy actually) & that at least the base model Lancer that's directly related to it isn't crappy looking.
