Got to reiterate this again: Sport Compact Car magazine (May 2007 issue featuring their MR2, which is cool because that's what I used to drive) talks about future collectible cars. What would be the highlight auction items on Barrett Jackson in 2027? They rattled off MINI Cooper, Toyota FJ, Jaguar XK, etc from an insurance survey. What did the magazine's editors pick? The Evo IX MR. 
They were thinking the same thing: this is the last of the breed. The editors could have said X but didn't. When we're in our 50's we'll be wondering why we didn't buy it -- the last EVOs that defined EVO. I, for one, am going to enjoy my IX MR SE and it probably won't last until 2027. Too much fun to let my kids (or another 50 year old) have all of the fun. I'll let them get something faster, lighter, and more fuel efficient.
An update from another reliable source: Road and Track magazine in their latest issue said the X will be heavier and shorter. (They forgot more European, but I digress
) However, it'll have 300 hp. Overall, speed times will be essentially the same. They were concerned about the X having the same great handling as the IX but I suspect the engineers wouldn't screw that up. Or could they? 
Hey folks, to set the record straight (again) I honest-to-God bought my Evo IX MR SE because of the pics of the X. I just did NOT like it -- not what I think of when I think of Evos. Screams Audi and knock off. So instead of waiting for the X, which I was planning to do since I still have my immaculate MR2 I was driving, I phoned the dealership, they got it in a week or so later, and I drove away with it.
BUT that doesn't mean I'm criticizing those who like the X. To each his own. We all have our own tastes. Yet you have to admit it looks like an Audi RS knockoff. At least give me that!

Um u must be crazy if u think this car isnt dope 
I have never heard so many lancer owners (base or EVO) hate'n on anothere mitsubishi lancer in all my life! All EVO'S are bad azz from I to X and even the base models have all been very nice rides. But yes the NEW models dont look like the OLD models thats what makes them NEW and you guys wanna talk about ugly go look at the new Subaru WRX/STI. The shark nose is one of the best looking new front ends on a car that I have ever seen and performance wise the Lancers just keep getting faster and faster So please people its like a new addition to the Mitsu Family take her in with open arms dont smack her in the face

You do realize that not eveybody likes the same stuff as you do? Some people like the Evo X and some people won't. Just deal with it, okay?
