Is the X better looking than the IX or VIII?
your crazy if you think the older evos look anywhere near as good as the new gts. older evos look like there a cheap car with a nice body kit. the gts looks like a nice expensive car and the front and angle makes it look like its got a v8 in it lol. i think its better looking than any other car under 75k out so far. i think it looks like a charger and a scion tc breed together and maybee some acura models in there.
for those that havent seen it in person the gts has the same size and shapes of a cobalt ss but every part of the gts looks faster and more luxury.

same could be same about you because you own an evo, but saying i can afford one is crazy im making the comparison to 75k car because i own one. i got the gts because it looks nice and gets good gas milage and a friend at work has an evo and reccommended it. my lancer gts looks better than my g35 coupe easily. your evo with a weaker frame would get crushed by a gts lol.
Now, now... Give credit where credit is due. The new Lancer may have a stiffer frame, but the frame is just the foundation upon which the rest of the car hangs. And an Evo 8 or 9 will out accellerate and out handle a GTS.
Now the Evo X....
I believe we may be surprised.. But time will tell. If the X turns out to downright *SUCK* I'll be right next to Brijen123 in the lynchmob at Mitsu's doorstep.

Apparently your the crazy one, over double voted that the VIII/IX look better then the new X. I think your just saying this because you own a GTS and couldnt afford an Evo. I have seen one in person and admit they are good looking cars, alot better then previous Lancer's but an EVO shouldnt even be mentioned in the comparison category with the Lancer GTS. EVO is way out of its league as far as looks and performance goes. Saying the GTS is the best looking car under 75k is just rediculous. I can think of probably 50 other cars under 75k that look way better and yes the EVO VIII/IX is one of them.

Look at the current sales of the new Lancer, sales are up over 200% over comparable period of last year, I think that gives a better picture of what people think of the new car, and sales will be stronger once Mitsu will actually start spending some money on marketing. Reality is that the new base Lancer looks more appealing to general public than previous gen Lancers and Evos. Evos VIII/IX, while great performers, they are definately not lookers unless you are in the 18-24 age range and into the ricey scene.
I can also name few cars under 75K that look better than GTS but unfortunately Evo VIII/IX is not one of them. When it comes to aesthetics I am a big fan of BMW, I like their body language but then again they are at a different price point, if I had a choice between current Evo IX MR or 335i I would pick the Beemer simply because it is a better refined machine that doesn't require the high maintenance. But then again I don't fit inside the 18-24 age bracket. Reality is that the new Lancer/Evo X was designed to appeal to a larger audience to generate higher sales and I think Mitsu hit the nail right in the spot, they are definately on the rise.

Mitsu nearly folded, at least in the US market, and all of the dealerships near me closed. The closest one is 38 miles from me, and the easiest one to get to is 41. Additionally, Mitsu doesn't have the best track record for reliability. I'm not saying they're junk, just not the best (Subaru was the most reliable in 2005.)
However, looking at the press releases, it's clear that Mitsu is on the right track to come back from their troubles, and to do so with a vengeance. The level of growth is astronomical, especially for a car company. And having spent an hour or so pouring over the new lancer, has shown me that they are taking quality more seriously than they have in the past.
Mitsubishi has a prime opportunity here. As a prospective, and likely long-term owner of a Mitsubishi car, I hope they make the most of it.

Dude you know nothing, I am on my 3rd evo and could easily get a X but dont want to waste the money on one. You saying a GTS will crush an Evo is just saying that the frame is heavier and plus how could a GTS crush an Evo if It cant keep up with one? I'm sorry but the g35 coupe looks better then a lancer GTS.
Yeah, voting on evolutionm.net under Lancer Evolution forum where most people own Evo VIII/IX is really shocking to me that they are voting for their Evos

"? ment I dont know. Of course sales are stronger the GTS its half the price of an Evo and is built for a wider audience then the previous lancer. Obviously you are jealous of Evo owner's because you dont own one and you have a pic of an X as your avatar so clearly you know nothing about Evo's. I bet if you saw an Evo Ix up close in person or even took a ride in one your opinion would change.
G35 Coupe vs Lancer GTS/Evo X? Apples and Oranges. The G35 is a sensuous sports car with civilized accents, whereas the Lancer is an economy sedan with a muscled look and sporty accents.
Both are good looking cars. I'll buy an Evo X though, but that's because I want to own a turbo AWD car. If not for that, the G35 coupe is definately on my list as I've driven a G35x sedan and it's REAL nice.

First off people are voting for best looking "Evolution" and the VIII/IX is killing the X so what ever this sentence, "Yeah, voting on evolutionm.net under Lancer Evolution forum where most people own Evo VIII/IX is really shocking to me that they are voting for their Evos

gts with a turbo on the new better motor would catch an evo if you boosted it enough. having 3 evos i guess nothing will change your mind but you will see one day. i park a g35 coupe and a gts right next to eachother and everytime i go into my garage i pick the gts now.

As far as your reading comprehension skills are concerned, I meant that since this is an Evolution forum where most of the people posses current Evos, they will vote for their cars, simple as that.
As far as sales go, I was comparing 2008 base Lancers to previous gen base Lancers, why would I compare a $15-22K car to a 30K-35K in sales? Besides, currently Mitsubishi is selling about 4500-5000 Lancers per month, they barely sold that many Evos in a whole year last year but it's partly because US market is limited to about 5000 Evos per year anyway.
And no one is comparing GTS to Evo VIII/IX performancewise as there really isn't anything to compare, a 152HP car vs a 286HP car (both about the same weight), geee, I wonder which is a better performer...
We all were comparing the aesthetics of the new Lancer to the current Evos, and in that department the new Lancer is miles ahead of the current Evos (again, they are great performers but aesthetic wise they are a sight for sore eyes). Pretty much nothing to be jealous about, you have your ricey looking Evo and I'll have my more sophisticated/cleaner looking Evo X, stock for stock I'll probably whoop your *** anyway... I understand that you are emotionally attached to your car but eventually you'll have to let it go. Thats why Mitsubishi named the car EVOLUTION.
Actually I used to own Evo VIII but the constant maintenance and lack of refinement quickly changed my mind, I am not saying it is a bad car, performance wise it is a first class car, daily driver wise it pretty much sucks, it's an enthusiasts car.

At least my Evo and Lancers of its generation look nothing alike where your Evo X and the base Lancer share many of the same features. Lancers are going to be a dime a dozen, we are going to start seeing them everywhere. Sorry you had a lemon for an Evo, I have hadd 3 Evo's now and no problems what so ever. Its your opnion that the current Evo looks rice which is a stupid opinion and apparently you dont know what ricey is because its not an Evo. We will see if your overweight beast can keep up with a IX, I mean I would expect it to but we will see. They are already predicting 0-60 times being slightly slower then the IX.
You know what BLITZKRIEG79, you obviously have no respect for the current Evo or any Evo before it for that matter calling it ricey. Your not an enthusiast of Evo's so why buy an Evo X? Up until the IX every Evo has had a high wing, aggressive fender flares and front end and you call that ricey. The X Its still hold the roots of an Evo even though it has a new motor that it shares with base lancers and some van/suv. How is that going to make you feel knowing that your motor is shared with other base vehicles?
