On top of that you have no idea how good the EVO x will be, most likely it will rape the 03-06's, considering the whole purpose of building an new evo is to improve over the last.
care to take any of these words back? LOL

Sounds like some people are confused here. You are correct Evo 9 is Evo 9

2003-2004 Evo 8 (watered down USDM to lower MSRP no ACD/AYC)
2005 we call Evo 8.5 due to ACD added back in but still no AYC stateside
2006 = Evo IX is Evo IX and we still do not have AYC here.

Now we have a proper Evo X with ACD/AYC Bilsteins and 5 speed.

I think with the ending production of Evos, they will be like the Supras. Either they will retain their value or go up more.

I think the VIII and IX will be a classic like the Supra and Integra Type R. Once in a while, a company gets it just right and produces something that just works out of the box. They are extremely capable and respond ridiculously well to simple mods.
Plus how many other cars, in it's time, came with a turbo, Recaror, Brembos, a Momo wheel, and AWD?? And an iron block? Etc, etc. Great car.
All the makings of a classic.

Good thing I decided long ago to keep my car. I'm never going to sell it, I'll drive it until it can't go anymore and even then I'll still try to fix it.

I don't think it will.

I'd imagine due to inventory. Besides it's how the car started out.

whether or not the X is faster than the 9, the 9 is regarded by the more general car public as the raw, last of its kind kind of car. future classic.

agreed. when most people say "Evo", they pretty much think of IV-IX, depending on what part of the world you are from. the X is to Evos as the R35 is to GTRs. yeah.. it's a GTR, awesome, and the fastest yet.. but classic like the others? not quite.

from what i can see, people are almost willing to pay more for a IX with 20k miles on it than a X with 20k, just as a lot of us would probably pay more for an R34 than R35 LOL.

If you have an evo 8 or 9, hold on to it. the value is going up. Not much interest on the evo x.
