Article on new Evo X and STi from Road And Track...
How do u launch out of an "AT AWD TURBOED CAR"? I probably could be wrong about the theory I have about but, if u really think it about it u would need a stall converter to just to launch the **** from the dig.
Anyway, I'm pretty certain it will feature some sort of rev-limited launch control, similar to what BMW offers with its SMG systems. With LC, the computer limits maximum engine RPM from a standstill.. let's say 6K rpm. It will then drop the clutch when you instruct it to do so.
Thats total BS on performance!!!!!!! they're the one that said the current EVO RS can do 0-60 in 4.4 & 1/4 in 13.0......and now they're sayin that the X is gonna be faster than the IX.........with 0-60 in 4.5 and 1/4 in 13.5 the X dosen't sound faster it sounds SLOWER!!!!! Sounds like they don't read what they write!!!
Ever see how a WRC car launches from the starting line? They are insanely quick and do it in the dirt or on tarmac.

this article is total crap like others have pointed out. 12.5 ET with more weight and a touch more HP with no clutch, not gonna happen! Whats funny is stock IX's are some what underrated and really make about 300-310bhp completely stock. IMO the X will make about the same hp and run the same times as the IX but I could be wrong. And for the sake of future X owners, I hope I'm wrong!!!
I doubt that, but you never know. But here are some things I am noticing (if the R&T article is indeed somewhat accurate). The EVO X will have an even larger turbo and it might be rated 300hp from the factory, but I believe it will in reality be making more. I even think it will spool quicker. I also think that all these weight complaints are with the SST or whatever its gonna be called, and the 5-speed manual will weigh considerably less. I also do not think the SST type transmission will weigh in at 3500Lbs. I guess we will just have to wait and see.
