Well I checked a few sources:

Modern Racer: 4.4

Motor Trend: 4.5

 

WRONG.

 

How the hell do those 2 responses make you think of the above question..

 

Actually! It's much easier to do in stock form than when modded.

 

... and replace clutch every 5000 miles I think Evo X with SST tranny will more or less lessen the burden of hard launches as everything will be computer assisted, therefor,e theoretically, Evo X should have more reliable internals than the untamed Evo IX. One thing I hate about Evos is the damn service intervals, I know its a sports car but with Evo X being more "daily driver" friendly, I hope that service intervals will be just like with regular Lancers.

 

We know just as much as they do.....but the fact is if mitsu wants to make the evo do 0-60 in 4 seconds they WILL!!!....IMO I don't think it will happen...but if it does there will be a LOT of mad supercar owners, not to mention how the sti boys will feel.....lol

 

Both could be read to indicate that the original statement about the X was uneccesary or unreasonable. The reason for that could be two things. 1. That the current Evos can hit that time already so the original statement was meaningless, or 2. that there's no way a current Evo would hit 4.4 seconds and that it's unreasonable to expect the X to do so.

Now, having seen mid 4-send 0-60 times for the IX, I figured it was the first. However, magazines are known for abusing their test cars. So I was curious if mid 4 second 0-60 times were achieveable under reasonable driving conditions, or if the car had to be flogged to get it going that quick.

 

Maybe with the 5 spd...

Just a current fanboy of the Evos who looks forward to what else is in store for this Mitsu brand & for the meanwhile wheels around in a Highlander and envying any of you Evo peeps who whizzes by me on the freeway

I say 4.0 flat. Look at the TQ that car is making now and if you threw that DSG type tranny in the evo 9 it would do 0-60 in 4.2.

 

lets hope you are right!
