Why not a bigger engine
Why not a bigger engine
Mitsi have made some great V6 engines such as the 6A13TT and of course the GTO engine, obviously the rally car will still need to be a 2.0, but why not make an evo x with a 2.5l twin turbo (maybe a pair of TD04's) V6 engine that would be a lot smoother and more powerful down low.
I don't see much of a reason to continue to stick with the small 4 cylinder.

Rally racing, you tard. They want to have production cars racing... Plus, gas mileage... nothing is cooler than a 2.0l turbo'd car that can smoke a V6 and get 5mpg more. There's lots of reasons. For example MIVEC helped smooth out the powerband a lot.

Ok, if I could afford a Porsche Carrera 4 I would too. But he's right. It's due to WRC rules.

More displacement is always a good idea. Not all road going versions of a rally car need to be 2 liters. Look a the U.S spec STI, it has a 2.5 liter engine, but the rally versions have two liters. As long as there are a certain amount in 2 liter form for homologation purposes the rest of the cars can have whatever kind of engine.

The STI is still a 2.0 in Japan to adhere to Rally specs.
ok, keep the 2.0 option for racing, but have the option to run a larger smoother engine that will have less lag etc.
Also my VR-4 regularly gets 9l/100km, my friends with evo's get a similar level, and often a lot worse because they need to rag their engines hard to get them moving along at a decent speed, you tard.
