I'm not about to read this entire thread, so sorry if this has already been discussed. But if the X really does weigh 300 pounds more than the IX, then I am extremely happy I got a IX, regardless of how much faster the X is stock. The thought of Subaru making the new STi lighter than the old and Mitsu making the Evo 300 pounds heavier is such a huge turnoff.

How will the Evo faithfuls react when they find out that their new hero is slower than the previous model? It could get ugly, but let's hope they take into consideration the rationale behind the car's weight gain. Yes, the new Evo is physically larger — with more interior space for occupants — but the main reason is the application of new technology that makes the car a much more nimble machine.
Wow yet another bad decision from an automaker.. They Intend on making it more luxurious for the every day people by adding MORE interior space, and while these people are coming off the freeway ramps in rush hour in California, they can use the YAW control system!!! WOW Mitsubishi please pull out of America before you embarrass yourself anymore! actually do it before you release this car!!!


They are so confused right now.. GLAD I BOUGHT THE BEST EVO EVER---> IX

What is wrong with you!!! where do you get to drive it safely and have a blast? on a road course that costs like $500 for a day and have to buy new tires brakes and a helmet and only get to go as fast as the next to you allows... Or do you plan to try out the ever so new almighty handling on the street.. I AM SURE YOU AS A REGULAR DRIVER CAN NOT FEEL THE DIFFERENCE IN AN EVERYDAY SCENARIO!

correct. gee, lets see mitsu, lets kill the cars heritage and gear the car towards housewives that need to pick up their groceries carefully! you ------ up mitsu, now suffer and sell nothing, i as well as other driver enthusiasts will look elsewere.

0-60 in 5.0 second?

0-60 in 5.0 second? That is sucks, I use to own Evo 8 and Now dirving BMW 335i Manual and I think the BMW is slow, now they telling us the Evo X is slower? at least the 335i 0-60 time is 4.8est. I think I may just go back and buy a 8 or Evo 9 now...

Any thoughts?

I'll tell you what...I am so happy I purchased my iX...kinda expected more out of the X...not a step up from a regular lancer...

EVO X.... eh, still ugly to me. AYC and ACD are nice in the IX, but I'm actually kind of glad I have an VIII. May not be a fast in a straight line stock vs stock, or handle as well because of no AYC or ACD, but that means you just need to build the suspension and learn to drive. Besides, it's nothing mods can't fix

I feel the same about the X. I prefer a more mechanical "pure" car. Makes you work harder and doesn't fix your mistakes. Though the VIII, I think, still hides mistakes, I could only imagine this new X practically drives itself for you. Though with technology, and the average driver being at large, nothing is going to stop cars from eventually driving them selves whether it's helping you turn faster, or break harder.

To whoever mentioned the analogoy 1G and 2G DSM's are to 3G and 4G Eclipse's as to EVO 1-9 are to the EVO X, I'll agree. But we'll see once some REAL driver's get they're hand on one.

Most people say the VI TME is the best so far. A black VI TME with gold BBS LM's is on the top of my dream car list IV-VI I think were the best EVO's, but my Mirage makes me a little biased

SWEET! More X's for the rest of us!

Hmmm...let's see. .2 sec. slower to 60 then my Evo IX (but still faster than almost everything in it's class) and 2 full sec. a lap faster on a 1.6 mile course than the Evo IX (faster than ANYTHING in it's class).

Looks like there'll be some butt kickin' houswives handing you your *** after you 'look elsewhere'.

Excuse me. Get my facts right?

C&D tested a IX when it was first released and got a 4.3sec. 0-60. A year later they tested an '06 SE and get a 5.0.
The 4G63 varied wildly in it's acceleration times with most times in the 4.6-5.2 sec. range. My facts are right.
If your here to bash a car you have yet to drive, maybe the Honda sites are more up your alley.

Tell you what princess, if your ever in the area or if I make it out to Mid Ohio next year for the NASA Championships, you come to the track and see where my tail lights are.
You can then tell me to f-off to my face and not sitting behind your mom's computer.
