Mark-ups Suck!!!!!
haha i love people that pay mark ups. then when they trade them in they are like 42000 upside down
Evos are not mark up material, even more so now that they are going to be over weight slow as ***** and ugly

The production numbers for evo's is going to go up compared to years prior. There will be more than enough to go around I'd suspect. I'd either find a different dealer or wait a few months.
If Mistu wanted to keep the car "exclusive" to the current market and not up sales, they wouldnt of changed it as much as they did to appeal to more and different kinds of consumers. They want to sell more, so basically they are going to ship boat loads of those cars here. anyone who pays a penny over MSRP is retarded at best.
Really honestly what everyone is saying is true, look at all the other cars that have had markups, esp. the C6/ZO6. They went down to normal pretty quick, and the guys who paid the markups probably don't care, since they're the rich bastards who had to have them the day they came out. But the Evo probably won't have much if any of a markup.
monthly sales estimate for Japan on the X is over 4000 units, i belive that it might be slightly smaller in the US, say 3000. Well, if they want to meet the numbers, they will have to deliver the car.
Last thing I would worry about is shortage of Evo X, of course it will take them 2-3 months to fill the lots of every dealer who actually sells the Evo in the US, thats normal.
If demand for these is much higher than supply, some dealers "shady dealers" will try to charge more than sticker, but that will subside, my guess is that by summer, they will be selling at invoice.

In 6 months you will be able to buy it for 3-5k below MSRP. I would just wait and if I am not mistaken, any markup must be paid in cash and can not be financed. Not sure but why would a bank lend more money then the car is worth.
Ok so I called Rick Case Mitsubishi in Duluth Ga and spoke with David the "Sales Manager". He told me that they have 2 X coming in around Jan 08 time frame. He also said that there is going to be a 10k mark up on it. With a 5-10k deposit. WTF??? I then called some places in Cali and they are already taking deposits and the most I heard they are taken is 1K for a down payment.
anyone have any info on this?
I'm leaning on a G37, bmw 335i, or the evo x and if it's going to be around 50k then they're out of their mind.

Usually finance companies will lend a certain percentage over invoice price to account for taxes tags dealer fees negative equity trades etc. Top tier credit you can get 135% of invoice all day long given you have the income to qualify for the loan.
I bought a 06 GSR over the MR because of markup out here in NM.. The dealers thought they were worth 45K, when I could go one state over in any direction and get one for MSRP or less. Funny thing is they have one of the last MRs sitting on their lot still, it's been there for months because no one is going to drop 45K.
Lemme tell you.. I walked in with a big fat check waving in their faces.. They tried to keep that 10k markup.. I said to them, "I'm taking my money, and I'm getting the hell outa here!" They were like, wait wait.. Let's talk.. And I told them if I didn't get the sticker price I'm walkin.. I drove out that day with the 1st EVO ever sold by that dealership...
Money talks...

When have you ever seen 3-5k below MSRP on an evo? Low supply combined with high demand i doubt you will see dealers coming down from msrp for some time. Getting invoice would be a great deal.

mitsu is trying to make the evo their halo car that they can actually sell. you know how some dealers have like a viper or vette in the front looking all nice but nobody actually buys those damn cars? well mitsu doesn't want that to happen again with the evo. they are no longer using their rally heritage to sell lancers and galants. they are using their rally heritage to sell evos in addition to lancers and galants and outlanders, etc.
