Are they insane?

This is how they plan to test the new outlander??

Meanwhile, subie's putting actual people into a rex with dave mirra and drifting it around a course. I love the cars but sometimes, I wonder if Mitsu even has a marketing department...

I wonder that everyday.... you should see some of the Ad`s they put out. One shows a lancer and outlander big and bold, and at the bottom a small strip with the RVR or Outlander sport...its their big upcoming vehicle and they didnt give it any spotlight!

Are you serious? This is different, creative, gets mits in the press and gets all the people that sit on the web for 6hrs a day doing nothing to at least play with a mitsubishi.

It's not like you can't go and have a real test drive after you check it out online.

I'm with you. I like the angle they are trying. It will, at the very least, get them some good publicity. These are the tactics needs to do imo. Try new marketing. A simple car commercial with music isn't going to get them back on top. Think outside the box i say.

so I wonder how many of these will be wrecked on the first day? you know someone is going to crash one into the side of that hanger!

To the OP: Mitsu got you to post it here, didn't they? They are trying to create a viral buzz which seemed to work to me

Also, Mitsu in America doesn't have well recognized guys like Mirra and Block driving race cars for them.

It's... an interesting idea.. but.. how exactly is that going to make you want to actually buy the car aside from actually driving it yourself in person.

Another marketing ploy, but at least they are trying. I don't think anyone will buy one by doing this directly, but at least it will increase exposure, hopefully positive exposure, which is the whole point of stuff like this.
