Evo XI Concept Renderings, Spyshoots, Teasers
Both of those you posted are actually Galant concepts... The 1st one is the Concept ZT which Mitsu killed off with no hope of reviving... the latter, a mockup of the first, from Road & Track.
The only somewhat real sketch of the next gen Evo is that ugly pancake looking car image posted by netjoy
Hope Mitsu shows up a concept of the Lancer soon, then all we have to do is visualize (read: mentally adding) flared fenders, 18 inch alloy wheels, big spoiler, dual exhaust pipes, vented hoods, etc, and that'll give us an idea of the next Evo!

Yea they keep us in the dark, while Renault-Nissans do this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature...&v=mQvIElMXxQk
One day though, in the not too distant future, Mitsu will finally pull their head out their *&%* and end the green car crap, then give us back AWD eclipses, more Evos (with hopefully better interior and paint -_-) and gt3ks
Worse of all things they plan to sell this for 40k euros(which is equal price for an Evo in Europe), planned numbers are 250-300hp on 1100kg-1200kg net weight(multiple by 2.2 for lbs) which is astonishing bang for buck for todays standards. This car is serious performance business.
BTW: You know whats common with eclipse awd, gvr4(all 3 gen's) and 3kgt's?
If they lived till day they could've been sold well no matter what, but you know whats worst, their demise meant end for Mitsubishi products in US.
Also Mitsubishi lacks so much flexibility its sad, models that were made by Mitsubishi but never reached US are, BUT could've been successful:
1. 2004-2012 Mitsubishi Colt CZ series(Mirage inheritor) 1.5lT 150-177hp FWD
While doing 35mpg city-44mpg highway(8s to 62mph)
2. 1993-2001 Mitsubishi Mirage GSR 1.8T 4g93T 180hp AWD
3. 1993-1995 Mitsubishi Galant VR4 240hp 2.0TT 6a12TT AWD/4WS (6.5s to 62mph)
4. 1997-1999 Mitsubishi Galant VR4 280hp(proclaimed, not sure if true) 2.5TT 6A13TT AWD/4WS?/AYC(~6s to 62mph)
5. 1997-2000 Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution VI +TME, no need to comment this, if this car EVER came to your market in those years, it would have been proclaimed god tier of that year.
6. 1995-2001 Mitsubishi FTO MIVEC, could've been Mitsubishi's own "Honda Integra" in US
Now for passenger program:
1. 1997-2001 Mitsubishi Legnum; Galant version of station wagon
2. 2003-2012 Mitsubishi Grandis; Could've been Mitsubishi's "Honda Odyssey", very spacious, good looking, comfortable, nice package of a car.
If you can waste few minutes browsing wiki or google for this models, you'll find most of them if not all to be really good or even great cars for US, and that not everything Mitsubishi makes is trash, but the guys that run it are. It also missed opportunity to widespead the use of TC-SST gearboxes(most probably they will die with EVOX's), instead they only got to be used on 2.2 FAP HDI Peugeot 4007(Mitsubishi Outlander badge enginnered brother). Also seeing that word Diesel passenger car is getting more often used by American car buyers these days, grab some popcorn and watch Jap manufacturers miss the train.
Found these images on a Mitsubishi global website that show some interesting changes in design philosophy and aesthetics. They appear to be moving away from bass mouth grill and introducing more organic shapes. Might give us some insight into what the XI design team might be up to.

It appears the XI was not represented in any manner at the 2012 Paris Motor Show :-(

Here is a link to the global i MiEV website. Might give us an idea of some of the hybrid technology being planned for Evo XI. Not a fan of the design, but the tech is cool.

I think they should have ended the Evo line with the IX and called the X and up grant vr4. Its more fitting for the luxury of x and it seems like the xi is now getting further away from the performance hardcore car (pre evo x) and focusing on a refined comfy version made for everyone.
