Mitsubishi's Future Plans
yeah thats the same thing comparing the evo/sti to a civic? 2 different price ranges, and at least honda paint can last 20 years.
im not saying a entire model change im talking slight changes such as increase in power i mean come on it didnt change at all... and yes a iknow about tunning before you start trolling..
a 5 door evo wouldnt have been a bad idea.

I agree 5 door Evo would have been a terrible idea. The Ralliart Sportback was discontinued for a reason - poor sales.
History of Evo X, BTW
2007 - new Lancer trims DE-Ralliart
2008 - Evo was introduced as a 1/2 model year. Car was available in a limited release Rotor Glow Orange color.
2009 - There was no new Evo due to the excess number of vehicles created by the 1/2 year in 2008.
2010 - The SSS package was just SS. Large wing became standard, as well as wider side skirts. The AWC button was relocated, and the red information display became a multicolor screen. Lancer Evolution SE was released.
2011 - Leather and Sunroof package was released as an option. Known issues like timing chain stretching and weak diff pins were addressed.
2012 - Leather door trim was added, and the "carbon fiber" interior trim was changed to a flat black.
2013 - 311RS was sanctioned and released by Mitsubishi and Ryan Gates.
Yeah, nothing earth shattering, but it's not like the car hasn't changed. And frankly, I think the car looks great as is. Why change it until the next gen Lancer?

Obviously doesn't live somewhere it snows, lol. In MN I can't even tell you how many **** box rust bucket HF's there are here.

yes those are similar changes and thankfully i live in the one and only CALIFORNIA home of the best weather in the country. dont have to worry about snow here sorry.
the thread isnt only about the evo, which clearly we all love its about the future of MITSUBISHI, which as we can tell isnt going anywhere.. subaru actually tries new things, such as the BRZ.. not a car that i personally like but its nice too look at.
Most of the stuff above do nothing for the exterior of car and that is where the Evo is showing signs of age. I also like the look of the car, but it does not mean it can't be improved, tweaked, etc.. Six years is just too long for a model to remain virtually the same. Talk about milking it! lol
Or what about a 7 passenger, AWD, plug in-hybrid? That's not new at all!
The most fuel efficient, full gas, small vehicle on the US car market? Yeah that won't sell.
Everyone is S'ing Subaru's D for the last week after they announced Diesel/Hybrid Turbo BRZ. We've known Evo XI was going to be a hybrid for a year now.
Right, the least expensive, longest range, safest, economy, EV isn't something new.

They drop the bomb the next Evo will be a hybrid of a sort and that's suppose to woo enthusiasts? How about saying the next Evo will be the highest performance, most fuel effiecient Evolution ever- that would spark interests for sure. Bad marketing and management; Mitsubishi is just plain clueless and inept

Difference is Subaru publicly acknowledged enthusiasts, confirmed they want to return to rally roots, and displayed a great-looking prototype of their next generation sports car. Meanwhile back at the ranch, Mitsubishi has kept it's hole shut since they prematurely announced demise of the Exo two years ago. There is zero excitement in the Mitsu community for XI, doubt the car will be made, no sketches or concepts of vehicle- only Mitsubishi is to blame for that.

I will definitely be one of them if the new WRX STI comes with a dual-clutch tranny and looks close to the concept vehicle. Giving our hard-earned money to the competition is a sure-fire way to get our collective point across to the folks at Mitsubishi corporate.

unfortunately mitsu thinks the evo will sell on the name alone...
Mr. Yokozawa was at our dealership this evening. I had a chance to talk to him. One of the things I had a chance to ask him about was a statement the new chairman made that lead to the rumors of a return to WRC.
He told me that they have no plans to return to WRC, "It's too expensive... We will continue take part in the Pikes Peak race every year... we are looking for other ways to return to motor sports."
